KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police are investigating a shooting around noon in an alleyway in northeast Kansas City."About noon, we received a call in regard to a female who had been shot," said Capt. Robert Zimmerman of the Kansas City Police Department. "Upon arrival by officers, we found a white female approximately 30 years of age."Police said they found the woman in a vacant lot behind a home."She suffered a gunshot wound," Zimmerman said. "She admitted she was a prostitute and had admitted she had picked up a john and he drove her here."The news of more violence in the neighborhood doesn't sit well with neighbor Tina Smith, whose home backs up to the vacant lot where the woman was found."I just woke up, and yeah, I am scared," she said. "I don't even want my son here right now."Smith said she is always dealing with crime near her home."Every day I have to go through something here," she said. "It's like helicopters are flying over you. You don't know what direction it's coming from. You got the park shootings all the time.""We're looking for a white male, in his 40s who is balding," Zimmerman said. "He was driving a newer blue Chevy pickup."
