Good Food in El Paso
I'm not talking chain restaurants--- you can get those anywhere.
What are the best places to eat in the city that aren't part of a national chain? Local chains are OK-- but don't list Chili's or the like

Hey welcome to El Paso! Let us know if you plan to come up to Las Cruces too!
Well when It comes to food in EP I know some of the other guys will give you great suggestions (im not an expert) but what comes to mind right away: 1) Chicos Tacos 2)Mesa Street Grill 3) Chrisostomo's
Those are just a few.

I won't be doing Las Cruces this time around. Perhaps another trip. I've got some things to take care of at home before I head out on my vacation, so my time is limited
Thanks for the suggestions. Keep em coming guys!!

I'd go to Carlos and Mickeys for Mexican, the Garden, crave or g2, for something a little nicer, Jaxsons for a locally owned that is similar to a chilis type, Ardovinos for pizza.
Enjoy your time here!

bw3700 had some good suggestions. Al the places in the downtown warehouse district are fun = garden, bicknmortar, cafe central, oasis, fire, pot au feu, camino real ...
then you have the Utep area = 2900, rulis, tara thai, mesa street grill, g2, no fish, aroma, magic pan, crave, daines ... sheesh a ton of places here
Sunland park area = greenery, ardovino's crossing, bella napoli, thyme matters, pf changs (chain but good), great american, state line (great live entertainment on wed nights) and many more...
I don't need to go east.
Are you in town now?

There's a Crave on the eastside now. Try Julio's Cafe Corona for Mexican. Great American for steaks and such. Susaki for sushi. Delaney's is another steakhouse.

Sorrento's - Italian open for lunch then close then reopen for dinner. Try the homemade spumoni for desert.

Eating in El Paso didn't used to be complete without a stop at Gunthers Eidelweiss. Are they still in business?
