Here's some possibilities:

a) "Taylor" is no longer in the business and surrendered the number (canceled the line it was on). The number got assigned to someone else who is obviously NOT "Taylor"

b) "Taylor" is no longer in the business and has abandoned the identity. Still has the number.

Either way you could have been corresponding with anyone.

She passed away a couple of weeks ago. She had moved to Colorado Springs recently.

Her obit was in the World-Herald. At my age, I need to keep up with friends and acquaintances that may pass away.
