being a longtime avid cyclist, i always love watching the tour de france coverage. i've watched every stage so far, but tomorrow the tour will seperate the GC contenders from the pretenders as the tour hits the Pyrenees. 3 massive climbs, including the famous Col du Tourmalet followed by the mountain top finish at Luz Ardiden.

here is a 7 minute clip of one of Lance Armstrong's most famous victories at Luz Ardiden in the 2003 Tour. Lance has a bad crash at the 45 sec mark in the video, and rival Jan Ulrich shows great sportsmanship by slowing down to wait on Lance. great stuff. live coverage, followed later in the day by taped coverage, begins at 7:00 am on the Versus channel (90 on fios).

JPdM, Glad to see another cyclist here. I've been riding and racing since the mid 70's. This year's Tour was pretty good. I did think it would be a little closer in the TT. I and my buddy have turned several providers onto the Tour. If you can watch it with them and explain all that's going on it helps a newbe get into it. Tactics, tactics, tactics.

I was especially pleased with the final result, as Cadel Evans always impressed me as a very classy guy. Plus I just LOVE Australia; a very welcoming and open-minded group of ladies! Andy will finally win it all next year, I think.
