if you were renting, how much notice did the landlord give you? did you have a lease? what are the terms about getting you out of there so they could end the lease?

how did you lose everything - did they take all your stuff out and dump it? did they lock you out??

Absolutely sucks, I hope your landlord rots, you do have rights (as pointed out, the lease is controlling or see the Kansas Residential Landlord Tenant Act - that's the Google). Good luck!
