The fatal shooting is Pittsburgh's 40th homicide of the year. That surpasses the number of homicides at this time last year, which was 33.
While there's been a rise in crime, there also seems to be a decline of hope for many residents.
"In Pittsburgh, I feel unsafe period," Larimer resident Marcus Williams said. "Pittsburgh is starting to get wild. A lot of homicides, left and right every week. I feel like it's only going to get worse and worse every year."
