Their legal system is actually pro family and fair to men over there unlike in America, so you're actually in a much better predicament in many foreign countries than you are here.
Do your homework before you travel there, respect and conform to their culture, traditions and values while you're visiting and you'll be fine and pleasantly surprised how friendly and welcoming those people really are.
Just don't go over there like some ignorant westerners or arrogant, entitled Americans. Say you're from South Africa so you don't draw unwanted attention and/or animosity.
Americans used to be welcomed, admired and loved around the world not too long ago...not so much anymore.
