Probably more the latter. The felony penalty for solicitation has been on the books for awhile now, and until very recently there was a lot of reported activity in that part of Dallas.

As I mentioned on another thread about the apparent difference in AMP options between DFW and Houston, having laws on the books to slow down the hobby is one thing, but the local politicians and law enforcement have to have the will to enforce it.

It appears the cities of north Texas are more willing to devote resources to the cause than some other parts of the state…at least if the observations of some who hobby in both cities are true (I personally don’t closely follow what is happening with our comrades down south).

Yes it is pretty dead, at least compared to what it was last year and the year before. I already made a thread about this a few months ago:

Long story short, cops are definitely on a no tolerance policy now and the crackdown seems to have started around October last year which is also around the same time they put up that police camera station just outside the Paris entrance.



I was out there last friday and did see like 10 or so girls outside of Paris and maybe a handful walking the streets but not much else.

If you've look at what H-Mart did to Carrollton, I think the same is going to happen to Harry Hines especially now that it has some official city backing. Though I hope the Bucks down the road from the construction will jump on board and have some Asian nights. I bet they'll make bank.

Yes, Harry Hines is dead, he served on the Texas Highway Commission from 1935 to 1941. He was an oil operator from Wichita Falls and advocated for paved roads in Dallas.

When the H-Mart moved in, the whole corner filled up with Asian businesses then corner across the highway filled up too. I think that's going to happen at Royale and Harry Hines eventually. That tornado years ago really cleared out some old buildings for a renovation oddly enough.

Bringing in a large corp like H Mart means the city will take a harsher stance on quality of life crimes. Nobody needs to see streetwalkers and hobos walking around when they're trying to grocery shop with the kids. Especially out of towners.
