text v. pm, which do prefer and why?

personally, i don't check online inboxes often and i almost always have my phone nearby. that is why texting is ALWAYS the best way to contact me. sending a dm will help me confirm someone online so i often ask for that in the text conversation. ongoing discussions via inbox are just not as effective for me. i'd love to know other perspectives, thanks in advance for your feedback! xo

PMs in old-school forum sites (like Eccie and OH2) are cumbersome to manage. Texting is a lot more convenient.

I PM first to help the lady establish I am who I say I am, but unless we are looking at scheduling that day I quickly move to text. The hobby boards are unreliable so I want to get the phone number in my hobby directory in case an outage occurs (like it did this past week with oh2).

I prefer email or pm for initial contact. If you say you're on one of the boards or p4, I'll ask you to send a quick message there so I can confirm, but after screening texting is so much easier.

I prefer PM first to “authenticate” someone either on p4 or the forums. Then move to text. Once we are on text, I prefer text always.

If text numbers change or it’s been a while, I always like to recheck on PM and then back to text.
