Default GOP defections to force a vote to extend Obama Care subsidies. BREAKING!

They’re going to get it done, in yet another GOP “fuck you “ to Trump and his flying monkey, Johnson.

Johnson’s days are numbered. Just my opinion. But Bruce yourself, boys. This ship is sinking faster than you think.

Operation Fuck the Poor is about to go up in flames.

GOP centrists push Democratic ObamaCare discharge petition to 218-signature threshold

Disgruntled centrist Republicans raced on Wednesday to sign a Democratic discharge petition extending ObamaCare subsidies for three years, providing the definitive 218 signatures to force a vote on the bill over the opposition of GOP leaders.

Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.), Rob Bresnahan (R-Pa.) and Ryan Mackenzie (R-Pa.) went to the chamber floor on Wednesday morning to endorse the petition led by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), in a major act of defiance against House leadership.

The last minute effort comes after leadership rejected moderate Republicans’ efforts to bring forth an amendment vote to extend the subsidies on a large GOP health care package.

“We’ve exhausted nearly every option, and we worked in good faith over these past many weeks to come to a compromise,” Lawler said. “I still believe a straight three-year extension is not the right policy. But I fundamentally believe doing nothing is even worse,” he added. “And to me, leadership left us with no option.”

Story is developing

I wish all on the Hill would get together and work on something that is much better that they know this country needs.

We have the ability to exceed the rest of the world on health care.

Of course we do. We've got the way, but not the will.

Thanks GOP!

I thought the dims sold us on this ACA being affordable.
The ol' crazy bitch nancy said we have to pass it to see what's in it...we found out with ZERO votes from the Republicans.
A fraud filled system that has cost the taxpayers BILLIONS!!
Legislation only the left can perpetrate on the American people.
The left will bankrupt us with their ill conceived compassion.

Maggies don't go for that down under socialized medicine that you enjoy their NaCl-y. So, sit this one out in the waiting room.

Please keep up with current events. Your basis is showing. Lots of them are supporting it now.

"Four Republican representatives who have supported extending the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax subsidies are Mike Lawler from New York, Brian Fitzpatrick, Robert Bresnahan, and Ryan Mackenzie, all from Pennsylvania." (multiple sources)

Plus a bunch more gutless shills who voted against it, though they had publicly stated that their constituents wanted it.

And, of course:

70+ percent of voters want them to extend the subsidies. Lots of them are MAGA Trump voters.

LOTS of them.

Millions of them. All hungry for that pig in a poke.

Unfortunately, the poke is empty.

No matter how much they try to spin it, the blame for this is falling more and more solidly on the GOP. And these price increases ain't even kicked in yet. This was a major mistake on their part. Major.

I have never quite gotten why the "Affordable Care Act". needed subsidies in the first place . . .because the economy was shut down during the Covid panic? Well, if that is accepted as a justification . . . . now that the pandemic panic is over, why do we still need a subsidy at all?

All of this is directly attributable to the progressive left. How does any "blame" for this leftist fiasco fall on the Republicans?

Nah. "Substantial" responses are not needed. It is best to just keep ignoring the big issue: 70+ percent of voters need/want/support them. Including lotsa MAGA....
