Default Android 4.0 update sux

I received a notice on my phone (google android 4.0) about 2-3 weeks ago about updating my phone. Sadly, I clicked the "yes" icon. I've given it those 2-3 weeks, thinking I'd adjust. But it's awful.

Anyone know how to go back to the way the phone was originally?

Thanks

PS-Keep in mind I'm a dinosaur, so speak very plain English, please.

Manufacturer and model of your phone, and your carrier?
