I am going to SA this summer for a few weeks to experience the World Cup. Anybody ever been there? Not looking for escort locations, but an overall what I should expect experience. We have the hotel and are working on tickets. Is there a safari close by I could go on, etc. I have dreamed of doing this for 20 years and whereas SA is not my first choice of venues for the World Cup, it is what it is. I am stuck with the location.

Thanks Nina, and on a side note, I love the Backpage ads. I am trying to figure out ow you did that so I can send a few to a few people I care about. On a side note, We have the Soccer tickets, it is the airline tickets we are waiting on. Not cheap at all. Not that many soccer fans out there nowadays.

One right here... and now I see, the hispanics training, there little ones here, in Dallas everywhere.
Also in Michigan, soccer is real big. I do my ad myself, and will make you some, of the billboards... Now, when you get to Africa, you make sure, you take alot of pictures.

Cities include Johannesburg, capetown and Tshwane. that locks up most the good games. we may drive if time permits to smaller matches.

In Cape Town, head toward Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, plenty of different restaurants, shops, and a nice wine shop (which sells cardboard bottle holders to ship in luggage). The waterfront also has a ferry to the museum/prison which once housed Mandela.

At night, don't sway away from the major streets, such as, Long St (aka Lang) and Somerset Rd, unless you wish to be mugged. Outside of the waterfront, Long/Lang is where most of the bars/clubs & restaurants are located.

If you enjoy people-watching with your morning cup of coffee first thing in the morning, I suggest Vid e Caffe @ 34 Kloof St.

For safaris, you can get tickets for nearby ones @ the waterfront. I don't know how reputable these folks are.

By the way, in Cape Town (at least), credit card purchases require the customer to enter a pin code. Through dumb luck, I discovered it's the 3-/4-digit security code on the back of the card.

I believe I know which course, I use live in LA.
One got raided, it was on the news few years back.

Caught this article on CNN regarding a restaurant 15km outside of CapeTown. Btw, it's easy to get a cab within CapeTown, not as easy in suburbs.

If you're an avid photographer, head to top of Table Mountain. Just be cautious of the taxi cabs & their broken meters. The currency exchange was very favorable (1:10), so I didn't give a care about being overcharged a couple dollars.
