Default Any Providers have to deal with Code Enforcement?

Okay, so this is kinda strange...one of my ATF providers just called me and said that she had a client make an incall appointment. When the guy showed up he was in a public works truck and then he badged her at her front door, saying he was with the health department. He spent about half an hour with her, explaining that anybody posting under the escorts section on BP that specifies a compensation rate (i.e., $100 for full hour, etc.) may be in violation of the health code and subject to fines. (Like performing unlicensed body work in a non professional enviroment?)

He says that he will issue tickets to motels that have providers staying there; the fine for the motel may be as much as $1500. He said he will also notify apartment complexes of suspected provider activity, etc. He said that such a report may have the provider evicted and may prevent them from qualifying for public housing assistance if they ever apply for it.

I had never heard of such a thing. My first thought is that he was scamming his way into her place by posing as a utility worker; there have been recent news reports about this (as well as persons posing as Fire Marshals) in the Houston area. However, she tells me that she thinks he was on the level, because she actually saw his truck, badge and ticket book. He didn't ask for $ or for a session, and left without writing a ticket. Has anyone ever heard of this kind of thing in the Houston area?

I have heard of this happening once before ... about 3 years it happened to a provider I knew. She was actually issued a ticket that she had to go to court for. She had been posting under body rubs and just like what happened to your friend, the guy did not ask for a massage or try to black mail her for money.

That's exactly what the provider I was mentioning was ticketed for.

Question? How can they do this if they don't allow you girls to get permits ect. There is no way to legalize a incall I suppose. Guess you better look out the window and If you see a public works or city vehicle not open the door. Wow, what next, tax payers dollars hard at work.

For massage therapists in the State of Texas there is a code of ethics that must be adherred to and requiring them to perform all massages in a sanitary work environment, while also prohibiting professionals from offering therapy in an unlicensed salon, parlour or school.

Now I know of legititmate (non hobby related) massage therapists who do practice out of their home or will share an office and none of them have ever been faced with what the OP is describing. In addition the health department in Texas is extremely short handed and has enough problems trying to regulate every massage therapist. The last I remember seeing online somewhere is that there is only 1-2 inspectors for the whole State of Texas.

Sanitary means you have all the equipment /tools necessary for sanitizing (alcohol spray or diluted bleach spray) for table and face cradle, or a hydrocollator machine, cold packs.. the area does have to meet some cleanliness guidelines. You must have a washing facility with running water.. a place to put soiled sheets etc.

If you are in a salon or an office setting where there are more than one licensed massage therapists advertising they have to be under an MEL (massage establishment license) which comes under other guidelines.

Generally if they are going to go after someone who is practicing unlicensed (health inspectors that is, which is very very rare) it will be to fine the person for being unlicensed or flat out arrest them. Let me also add that in the State of Texas licensed massage therapists are required by law to keep a consult form on every client. It is a 10,000 dollar fine for every client that they do not have a consult form on file for.

I would tell your friend to be very very careful with something like this because it sounds very fishy, suspect to me.

Link to Texas Massage Therapy law Scroll down to Rule 141 52 as to sanitation requirements and facility

Default He is full of crap.

Your friend needs to screen better so she can avoid idiots like that. He probably went into his truck and whacked off after he scared her.

I think that whoever this guy was is full of BS and trying to scare this gal. Health inspectors are not going to go to every motel/notel/hotel to see if escorts are practicing in an unsanitary area. There is no regulation of escorts anywhere in the State of Texas.

It would be real easy for LEO to pick up a city truck and ticket pad and head out for some snooping around.

If there is more than just a simple case of prostitution going on with an independent then sure. It makes no sense for all the cloak and dagger though unless they had more than just a prostitution charge in mind.

Sounds like someone that was planning to impersonate a city official for a free fuck and then got cold feet and didn't go through with it. Kinda like those idiots that go see a girl with intentions to rob her and then end up chickening out and running away.

Massage != Escort

Post under the right heading if you are Escorting and not providing a Massage. That way you avoid these numb nuts city workers.

If he shows up regardless, you can claim that you plan on going out to dinner w/ the customer which is in no way body work, so he can shove his ticket right up his ass.

Thanks for the input everyone. Yes, I agree with calling BS onthe guy, and I think the scenario described by jack flash is pretty likely. She has posted under escorts but had previously also posted under body rubs and so if he was following up on an old body rub ad, then - well maybe...his concerns were more along the lines of what Guilty Pleasures was talking about.

from brooke's comments it sounds as though this scenario isn't impossible...
