Hobbying & the Flu

Ladies & Gentlemen,
Has the flu impacted your hobbying/providing? At the moment, I have to be very careful re being around people that might have anything contagious. I go to the grocery store late at night or very early in the morning (2 or 3am) when few people are there. A high school buddy that's a priest comes by my house on Sunday evening so I can receive communion. I stay out of crowded, warm restaurants and avoid touching surfaces like gas pumps, public doors, etc.....

But then there's my love/lust for sex with Providers and I was wondering if there's some modicum of protection or precautions being exercised that makes it less likely that an encounter & tryst won't result in the flu? I've indulged once in the past 30 days and have no plans to do so for a while. Sure, I get the flu shot every year, but how good will that protect me or any other hobbyist who imbibes with some comely Provider that doesn't believe in flu shots or exercise similar (if no so extreme) care? And then there are the AMPS!

I would hope she would make herself unavailable if not feeling well instead of doing what she has to do to make a buck. And If I'm not feeling well, screwing is the last thing on my mind.

It's one reason you get to hear true "High Mass" (done in Latin, the true scripture..not the pop-style script used in most Catholic churces today...and ritual used in the earliest days of The Church) at some funerals. I've gone to church every Sunday since I was born...oftentimes sighing and shooting looks at my parents for "dragging me to Church"....but growing increasingly appreciative of the spirituality and bonding with others of faith as I grew up...and now old(er). I always attend Lent, Easter, Christmas...all Holy Days of Observation to give thanks. I've attended schools based upon secularism as well as those run by various orders within the church, including Jesuits, Methodists, Marianists and lay clergy. I've always felt blessed to have been afforded such a faith-based education while being raised in a very loving family. My family's Saturday evening dinners were often attended by priests from our church or my school.

I recognize my weaknesses (part of being human, possessing free will and serving as testament to the great wisdom of a higher being looking over all of us) and believe in God's forgiveness. I'm not trying to go religious on anyone but yes...I do go to confession on a regular basis too. There are 3 priests in my lifetime to whom I have offered confession. I always feel better afterwards...less angry...less of a cynic...less willing to see bad in people....happy to be alive and serving as proof of the presence of a Divine, all-forgiving God.

I see the smile at the end of your comment and presume you were being funny and I get it. Guess I've had my faith tested of late even though I look to it for strength.

The true High Mass huh? Thanks for re-confirming my view that organized religion is just a crock .... mankind's interpretation of the meaning of life.

Maybe if you pray hard enough, God won't let you catch the flu. But if he does, it was probably all part of his plan....drink plenty of holy water and get some rest.
