That it's existed yes. That it's now an "Urgent Threat" and "There's no question gonorrhea is developing resistance to every drug created to fight it", that it now has the highest warning level from the CDC is actually new news. And (since you didn't read the article) 246,000 of the 820,000 cases are of the drug resistant variety. But no worries, I'm sure all of those are in cities other than Houston.
