				 Name of this website?

So, in conversation with providers I've heard this website referred to as "icky" and as "icy". I prefer icy. What do you call it when you talk about it? Any other suggestions? Why couldn't it be as simple as RAPS or ASPD?

I've called it 'eesie' for the longest time...but I stand corrected. The proper pronunciation is 'eckie.'

But why.....What does it mean? Is it an acronym? I was digging through some site information and actually found the pronunciation detailed out. But that was after a provider from Texas had corrected me on it one day.
But, I did not see an explanation of why ECCIE. Why not "HornDawgsRus.gov".... (ha ha).

Huh, I've always thought of it as etch-ee.
Only recall speaking to one provider about the site, and she pronounced it ess-ee.

I wasn't trying to impress anybody, sweetie. You might stand to profit at some point in time from being diplomatic, seductive and "cool". |

BB is correct, and believe it or not a TON of thought and research went into coming up with a name for this place....and the fact that there's still alot of curiousity and interest surrounding the name, it's pronounciation, etc. means that time spent was well worth the effort.

I have never been one to read a whole lot. That is true. But I guess I must be blind. Thanks for the clarification of the Title/Acronym.

But I also think you will understand that I have had alot more to look at here on this site than mere words. There are just a few PICTURES to catch my attention ... |

As most humble and often confused speaker of English, have logically assumed pronunciation of informative acronym to be Ek-see, as in access, success, and accident. Suppose Ek-kie would also be contender, as in succor or accord, but if memory serves some time ago there was post citing forst pronunciation as most correct.Ek-see has to own ears more pleasing sound as Ekkie seem more like person trying to expel pubic hair caught in throat. If misinformed, now shamefacedly await corrrection.
