These are the two definitions I've heard most in clinical discussions of sex. A fetish is when a person sexualizes a object that is normally not thought of as sexual. Or a fetish is when someone requires the inclusion of a specific object or ritual to get off, either through porn that showcases it, through literally having that object or routine present in the sex act, or through imagining that object or routine in order to reach orgasm.

For my personal use, I just call something a fetish if it trends in my sex life, especially within very specific fantasies during masturbation. I also use it to describe something that triggers arousal when I'm in an otherwise vanilla situation. I somewhat empathize with the boys who adore feet because I'm a girl who adores big man hands. I get crazy side-tracked on a weekly basis when I catch sight of giant man paws at a meeting, at work, out at a bar, etc. Cowboy boots are a new weakness of mine and the only material thing that comes to mind for me specifically in this discussion. Lingerie, on the other hand, plays a big part in my sexuality, but I'm not sure if I'd consider it a fetish -- it's more like an adult version of dress-up that allows me to lure out my own sexuality. God, I do love lingerie.

Kink I define as something that would make my average girlfriend squeamish if I owned up to ever doing it in bed, let alone mention wanting to do it in bed. Some girls think CIM is as gross as it gets, so that's why I say "average girlfriend."
