In my experience, one of the dangers of the hobby is the tendency for women to gradually, over time, link their rates with their self esteem.

OP - I think you are on to something here. Prior to being a hobbyist I hand a NSA civilian I would see. I would come over we would have some wine or champagne...just chit chat about work and life.
