After reading this entire thread, this is the most astounding thing of all.

On the other hand, reading the (initially) supportive posts of the fine ladies with the big hearts makes me want to put them all on my TDL. Gentleness of spirit always finds a way to shine through and make the fun even better.

Eh... I'm not anything special..... I've just been to the well of need myself. I have no family to speak of, and there have been times where I myself have had to rely on the kindness of members here. At the initial request, I thought that she was perhaps in a DV shelter with her little ones. I know they feed residents... but I could understand wanting a few extras. Once I found out the happenstance of how she came to be in the shelter and that her children are not currently in the picture-- I dug a lot deeper. I'd prefer to save what little I can give to someone who has a true need that isn't self (and selfishly) inflicted.

I'm a sucker for kids. I'm a mother and I've fostered kids over the years as well. No kid should ever be hungry or homeless.

I disagree for the most part. I just sat here and read this entire train wreck, something I rarely do anymore. I was quite amazed at how on topic it has remained and how spot on the commentary really was.

If it weren't for some of the opinionated individuals like the goat, some of these debaucheries might go unchecked. One thing that I didn't see was anything that was not true. The ladies did a really nice job rooting out the truth and attempting to advise her with a path forward. There have been a few that choose to take the good Samaritan path route and stand by it.

This young lady needed a good tongue lashing and that she received. Now she needs to remove herself from action completely and focus on getting herself in the mental and physical condition to maintain, as well as start the process of getting her child(ren) back. Then she needs to focus on them and her life away from this disease. And it is a disease for someone like her. She has received some very good advice in this thread, now she needs to listen.
