Note:

Dallas is about to get a "taste" of playoff like football over the next three regular season games (actually, that kinda started a month ago in Pittsburgh, didn't it?). Anyway, here's what things looks like:

NBC's Sunday Night Football gets Dallas two consecutive games starting with next week's game in NY. The Giants will want to sweep Da Boys...next up, the Tampa Bay Bucs have caught fire of late and will be a huge challenge as they are chasing Atlanta in their division (ie: the NFL and NBC "flexed" that game from a noon kick off to "Prime Time")......and the following week (Monday Night Football) the Detroit Lions come to AT&T will want to maintain their lead over Green Bay. Detroit's defense looks stout btw.

No time for rest as there are no Cleveland Browns or San Francisco 49ers remaining on the schedule. All in all I think that's a good thing. This will keep the players focused as they prepare for post-season play.

Wouldn't that be something if the HOUSTON TEXANS could win the AFC?
Maybe i am reaching a bit too high, but is a possibility. lol

Dallas clinched a spot on Sunday after the division-rival Redskins (6-5-1) lost to the Cardinals in Arizona, 31-23. They are the first team this year to punch their ticket.

After taking care of business in Minnesota on Thursday Night Football, Jerry Jones and Co. simply had to sit back and watch the Redskins open the door for their first postseason appearance since 2014 and second since 2009.

Washington had a chance to spoil the party, but a late comeback attempt ended with a Kirk Cousins interception.

The only other playoff scenario finalized on Sunday was the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-10) officially getting eliminated with a 20-10 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Dallas has a prime-time date with the 8-4 Giants on Sunday Night Football this week.

At this point, it seems like the rest of the NFC East will eat itself alive while Dallas coasts into January. The Giants faltered with a golden opportunity against the Steelers on Sunday. The Eagles, far removed from the conversation, also lost. On the heels of the NFL's leading rusher, Ezekiel Elliott, and fantastic rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, the Cowboys will head into the postseason as a heavy Super Bowl favorite for the first time this decade -- and with far fewer top-tier teams to contend with than when Dallas went 12-4 and made the playoffs two years ago.

Yeah dude you'd be reaching like a muthafucka if you think Houston wins the AFC. Hell if they win the division they'd probably play Denver or Kansas City here at home and get their asses whooped like last year. They wouldn't even have to go to Foxboro and get their asses slaughtered by New England.

I must say Dallas is looking REAL good, but they got some tough competition coming up in the next few weeks. One thing they need to do is hold on to home field advantage throughout the playoffs. They can't continue to play like they did in Minnesota and almost get caught slipping!

Probably unfair to grade out Wentz at this time considering... a below average O-line...terrible wide receivers...zero running game. It'd be interesting to see what he'd be doing if he was in Dallas (of course, that sounds like the Barry Sanders / Emmitt Smith debate of the early-mid 90's though so no need to go there...)

They did give up a lot to get Wentz....as did L.A. to get Goff. Those two picks compound the incredible value Dallas received by getting Dak in the 4th round (as a compensatory pick....for losing DeMarco Murray in free agency.....to the Iggles <snicker> love the irony....)

In addition to that, the Zeke pick at 4 (1st round) is the steal of the draft. Oh wait....Dak was the steal..right? Oh, who cares, right?!?! This year's draft was a BlockBuster of Epic Proportions. Sorry, Iggles! haha

To boot, Maliek Collins has been making big contributions to the defense. Likewise, the late round draft pick, CB, Anthony Brown, who has filled in for Mo Claiborne (and not look bad at all). If second rounder, Jaylon Smith, comes through next year, this will be an all time draft class....by ANY team's measure.

Wentz will be better when he gets better talent around him. And that could take a couple of years of great draft classes in tandem with shrewd free agent acquisitions. That said, I could not be happier with how it went down for the Cowboys. This has been nothing short of amazing.

Good post but, lets ADD to this post.

Vote: Which set of 3 Teams are Tougher, Stronger, and More Talented?

1)Baltimore Ravens 27-17
2)Washington Redskins 31-26
3)Minnesota Vikings 17-15

3 Wins in 11 Days And let’s not forget that we beat Pittsburg Steelers 35-30

1)New York Giants
2)Tampa Bay Bucs
3)Detroit Lions

All 7:30pm Prime Time Games.

Y'all would not believe that Tampa Bay Bucs and Detroit Lions were at the bottom of the Chicago Bears and Green Bay, and Minnesota's Division for centurys, back in the day and before Tampa moved out of that division. I don't think Tampa Bay ever won a super bowl. Hell, what am i saying, i don't think they ever won a DIVISION. lol

Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott leads Pro Bowl voting

League leading rusher. Top candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Playoff qualifier. Division leader. Budding superstar running back. All of these terms can be used to describe rookie sensation Ezekiel Elliott.

@Chateau Becot or anyone really ..... I'm curious regarding your opinions on the Boys drafting Jaylon Smith ..... yeah they knew the risk they were taking ..... but how do you feel about the chances of a full recovery and him actually playing football again? ..... what percentage do you give it? ..... 10%, 50% or more? ..... do you believe the nerve will "re-fire" as the doctors call it ..... and do you think it's realistic to expect a full recovery and that he will ever be the player he was at Notre Dame? .....

Only time will tell. The Cowboys have their own team of high powered, highly paid doctors that are of the opinion it will. I am hopeful this kid can make a full recovery, as he seems like a fine young man with a wealth of talent.

Totally agree. He's a classic Jason Garrett "right-kind-of-guy". Smith's measureables are totally off the chart (if / when he's 100% healthy). Right now, you just keep your fingers crossed Jerry, Stephen, and Jason all were given accurate information (per Dr Dan Cooper who performed the surgery) that this kid has a great chance to make it back all the way.

I've read plenty on this type of injury...this is, as LAS stated, is simply gonna take time. Many doctors who have performed this type of surgery say the same thing....the peroneal nerve when "stretched" (as in Jaylon's case) will require between 9 and 15 months before it begins to fire again.

His surgery was performed Jan 7th of this year (the torn ACL has been repaired and the knee is stable btw)....so we're 11 months hence and counting. Everyone knew this would be a "redshirt" year for him so patience is key (since there is nothing that can be done to speed up the regeneration).

I like the fact the Cowboys gambled and grabbed him (many thought it was too soon....and I would have to agree...hoped he'd be available in the 4th round and we'd nab him). Bottom line: High risk....High reward.

Sounds like something Jerry would be all in on, doesn't it?

Absolutely ..... Jerry's always been a gambler and you know his ego loves nothing more than to prove he's better at everything than anybody else ..... I truly hope Jaylon makes a full and complete recovery ..... because if he does, what a monumental draft this was for the Cowboys .....

absolutely ..... Jerry's always been a gambler

Jaylon Smith Encouraged By His Progress, But No Injury News To Report

True to his optimistic nature, Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones emphasized that encouragement on Tuesday morning. Asked about it on 105.3 FM The Fan, Jones said he wouldn’t rule out Smith’s ability to contribute this season – and Smith echoed that attitude.

Dallas Cowboys LB Jaylon Smith is running, taking part in drills
Regardless of when he suits up, Smith returning to full health could have a major impact on the future of the franchise. Prior to the injury, this was thought to be a top-five pick, so you can’t understate what a prospect the Cowboys have here.

Or as Smith put it, “Just stay tuned.”

https://www.all22.com/dallas-cowboys...part-in-drills

Don't be surprised if we see him in the playoff's in January, and he might just be the Extra Talent that we need to get to the super bowl. Cowboys owner/president/general manager Jerry Jones has done an outstanding job, not only in this years draft with outstanding picks, not only with all the money that he spent on building a state of the art practice facility in Frisco and funneling those dollars back into our Texas economy, (like he did when he built the Texas AT&T Stadium in Arlington), But he has set and built the Foundation of young players in motion to build on for years to come in DALLAS. Even if we don't see Jaylon Smith in the playoffs, he is going to be a great addition next year and he is only 21 years old. And lets not forget about DE Charles Tapper, another nice addition once he is healthy.

Here is a Fan with a real prediction and a Tat.

It may have escaped you bud, but this is a pro-Cowboys thread, for true Texans. Its not for yellow-bellied Yankee trash. So take it elsewhere, start your own thread, I could care less what you do. But you are not welcome here.

Fucktards can post on whatever thread they wish. Oh and the cowbitches do not represent "true Texans." They represent their team owner and league ... nothing else.
