Tips expected?
Had an interesting experience the other day. I contacted a lady for an appointment about a week in advance. The night before, I check in with her to make sure we're still on. She says yes, but want to inform me that she requires a minimum of a $100 tip on top of her donation.
Why would anyone do that and not just make the donation $100 higher? My understanding of tips are they are not mandatory (and many times not expected). Tips are solely at the discretion of the tipper as to when to tip and how much to tip.
I don't know if other ladies do this, but if you do I'd prefer that you just increase your rates to include your minimum mandatory tip.
[/End Rant]

Hold up that isn't a tip that's a deposit. To hold a date wtf. I swear y'all need to stop with this poor me shit. Damn. And you damn well know that she is talking about a deposit not a tip. Tip is at the end of your date, deposit is before your date

And let's see we take deposits to hold your date, also it prevents people from ncns or just not showing or rescheduling. Deposits are also another form of screening

Calm down Nikki, I know the difference between a tip and deposit, This is not a deposit, but a Tip. She didn't want the $100 before the date. She wanted included with the fee at the date. Also a deposit is typically part of the total fee (so if the total is $300 and you give a $50 deposit, the balance due is $250). This was an additional amount above her rate. It was an "expected minimum tip"...her words.
And don't give me that shit about "poor me". It wasn't the total amount I didn't like, it was the unexpected last minute expected tip that turned me off. I scheduled another appointment with a different provider for $150 more than her rate + tip, so it ain't the money.

After re-reading my initial post, I can see how someone may infer that I was talking about a deposit. I should have been clearer in that she wasn't requesting the additional money the night before to hold the date. She expected it with her fee the next day.
All I'm saying is that if you're going to post rates, don't add last minute surprises. If everything is upfront, then everybody knows what to expect.

I read you post 57
And understood it. I never thought you meant deposit nor did you mention it. And you did the right thing. Just walk away if it doesn't feel right. Just be glad you where told of the tip prior to meeting with her rather than having an uncomfortable situation as your were ending the date.

I'm not sure, I only know of one client that canceled with her (me) due to that policy.

Tips are gratuity.
A sweet and gracious gesture by a client, guest at a restaurant, Heck I tip my hair artist AND My sons stylist at sports clips.
It is a gift.
I totally understand why you would cancel & presume she shall expect more cancellations.
No, it is not the norm and highly doubt that's going to be accepted by many clients around here... EVER.
Is she a member here? New member..
Touring.
Never have heard of that policy.
