I don’t agree that this effects President Trump’s re-election all that much and it’s likely to make him even stronger. Besides the fact that 99% of the people already have made up their minds, we will need an economy that will strengthen, as well as someone dedicated to reducing our reliance on China. Donald Trump fills both of those nicely.

I think the best answer is draconian, near-quarantine measures for 2-3 weeks, with $1,000 or $2,000 funneled to everyone. that kills the virus faster than anything, and we can move on after a short stint in hibernation.

We are in the beginning of that. People are starting to loot. The Philly mayor basically said "let them." Unless life is at stake, write a ticket and let them go. In other words, feggettaboutit. There are way too many people living paycheck to paycheck. Shits about to get real. Very real.
Here in Houston, mayor Turner did the wrong thing ordering so many closures. It's going to cause economic devastation. He needs to rescind and/or limit many of the closures.
This flatten the curve rhetoric is theoretical bullshit. I can see why logically it makes sense in Italy, a smaller country that's more densely populated. Here the social and economic damage is going to be far greater than a couple of hospitals making some tough decisions. We have excess capacity. Use it. That's why its there.
And for gods sake get the kids back in school. I don't want to hear in September we have to go thru this again because some kid is sick.
Prediction: People will start robbing Amazon trucks.

I can see that happening. But longer days mean longer hours for more deliveries in the sunlight. Just imagine, if or when it happens, what it would be like if the sun set at 5p.
Lucky for Jeff Bezos he can squeese more pennies from the customer and contract drivers.
