The United States is producing record amount of oil now, the price rise was caused by the reopening after covid, the Russian invasion, OPEC+ cutting production and corporate profits.
the price of oil is set on a world market. The new green deal will eventually lower gas prices as demand will lower.

They tried to talk around Biden being the causation of increasing gas prices versus the global commodity that gasoline is, and didn't understand that if you could sell gas for $4 overseas why would you sell it for $3 domestically. It seems as though the "energy independence" group around here doesn't understand price elasticity, or the law of supply and demand.

They literally think the sub $2 gas was because Trump magically waved a wand over top of the gas pumps versus the fact that during a pandemic nobody drove anywhere.

Sure, gas was low under Trump. But Trump didn't do anything to keep it low.
Then gas prices went up under Biden, but Biden did some economic magic to bring it back down.
