and he's trying to sell a massive tax cut that isn't paid for. horrific. he's going to bankrupt this country just like he did all his companies.

i'm all for Medicare reform. Medicare is built around the needs of for profit companies rather than patients, but nothing from Trump about that. Medicaid is actually more cost-effective.

“…higher spending on health and retirement programs and rising interest payments, Treasury Department spending records show.

Overall, the government spent about $710 billion between Jan. 21 and Feb. 20, Treasury daily spending data shows, up from the roughly $630 billion during a comparable period last year.

Independent budget experts said the figures illustrate the relentless pressures incurred by an aging population and a ballooning debt load.“

Not really his fault. All three of these he inherited and will get worse unless entitlement spending is cut. As well as interest rates…

^^cool!

easy fixes.

Soc Sec: end the income cap and subject realized capital gains to Soc Sec tax.

Medicare: not as simple, but redesign it for patients' benefit rather than corporations. also, repeat above procedure.

debt: first get the deficit to 0 by returning taxes to the Clinton era levels, the last balanced budget we had.

also, treat realized capital gains as ordinary income.

then start paying down the debt, 1 dollar at a time.

problem solved..

Trump, instead, is just going to bankrupt Uncle Sam. that will be the end of Pax Americana. and we'll all have to learn Chinese..

Every POTUS from (at least) Obama onwards inherited a huge spending problem...but everyone kept on kicking the can down the road, including Trump during his first term. We didn't treat Social Security contributions like a piggy bank for the retired, but a like a slush fund raided for other expenditures. With all of the Baby Boomers now at retirement age (and the Gen X'ers approaching that time soon), there is going to be a massive budget deficit to service all those checks, if nothing is done. Maybe if we had term-limits on Congress, they'd start acting more responsible with the budget, rather than playing Santa Claus to keep getting re-elected.

However, making a determination that Trump is intending to spend more than Biden, based off the first month of his second term is a little silly and click-baity. Bump this thread in a year, and if the spending is similar to Biden's last year in office, then we'll have something to talk about.

^^spending is only 40% of Trump's problem. 60% will be a lack of revenue. his tax cuts will be a cancer on the Republic. we need an adult in the room.

of course it is because current spending is based on Biden's last budget. next year will be the first Trump budget then we see where we are

Trump's spending is not killing the economy this quickly. His poorly planned Bozo the Clown tariffs are.

Presidents spend too much. Trump is hardly alone when it comes to spending. That's just the American ghetto fabulous lifestyle and how we roll now, meaning we spend when we shouldn't because we don't have it to spend but fuck it, worry about it later.

If you ain't living ghetto fabulous then you ain't really living... one of my broke ass friends told me that when I asked him how the fuck his broke ass could afford a GMC Denali. It cracked me up because the car dealership that was dumb and greedy enough to sell it to his bad credit having ass will have to repo that vehicle within a year after he puts 40,000 miles on it. Hell, his stupid never paying his bills on time ass should run for POTUS in 2028. Haha

It's called Reality.
He has not passed a budget through Congress and signed it yet.
Even the LambSCREAM media would cover that when it happens.

LambSCREAM media? Why would you want to silence the lambs, WYID?

You fellas sure like your name calling, don’t ya?

No wonder you elected a schoolyard bully to worship. (And worship you do.)

(Not to mention the incredibly well written arguments presented herein).

Trump has no intention of allowing Congress to make the laws, or set the budget or anything.

This is a total power grab , plain and simple.
