You still don't get it. You're just not very good at this.
So it's ok for you to play the anecdotal game, but not for me? If you're too lazy to look up which nearby store has the best egg prices by typing 4 words into google search, I'm not sure anyone can help you.

I have no doubt that most people reading this thread agree it is unfair to blame Donald J. Trump for any runup in the price of eggs (or any other commodity) that took place before he was sworn into office on January 20, 2025. How was trump expected to be influencing egg prices during 2024? He wasn't. Biden was. Pre-inauguration prices are on Biden. Post-inauguration prices are on Trump, increasingly so as time goes by. It's painful that I even have to explain this to you.

Once again, the RETAIL price of a dozen eggs (the yardstick YOU insist we use) today is $0.95 (or 19%) lower for me (using my google-assisted search result) than it was on Inauguration Day 2025 (as measured by the Bureau of Labor Statistics).

Get it now?

Cool story, bro. Now go back a year. Check those egg prices. They're lower still.

I'm not blaming trump for 2024 egg prices - which were lower than they are today - why would I would blame anyone for that?

What I am blaming trump for is his not doing a goddamn thing to help bring prices down since being in office - you know, like he claimed repeatedly ad nauseum during his campaign. Instead, now, he suggests we do with less, or even without. Like the true incompetent piece of shit he is.

Would be nice to see eggs rise back up the list for cost-effufent protein. Price needs to drop a lot more for that to happen.

We're on bad bird flu season away from undoing all the progress

Encouraging news regarding the current status of the bird flu in Vermont. The dairy testing and focus on cows as a transmission vector was smart to implement an good to keep.

Hopefully these result hold for the fall

As a quick note, we're right at the start of the window where chickens hatches under Trump would be producing eggs.

Since most hens really only produce for about 3-4 years, the vast majority of eggs produced in the U.S.from Jan 20 to this point were from Biden-era hens.

Current GE price is $4.79 per dozen for Hillendale Farms White Large Grade A and $5.49 per doezen for comparable England's Best

Of course you're blaming him for last year's egg price runup that continued into the early months of trump's tenure, after Senile Joe Biden did nothing.

It's what you and Gristle do - blame trump for everything bad. Give him zero credit for everything good. That's the whole point of this thread, and most of Gristle's other sandbox threads, for that matter.

You're obviously not paying attention. Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins rolled out a 5-point, $1 billion plan to bring prices down 3 months ago. How did you miss it?

https://www.wsj.com/opinion/agricult...rices-6be0f881

Since Brooke announced her plan in late February, average US wholesale egg prices have dropped by almost 2/3! From $8.11 per dozen to $3.10 today, according to Trading Economics. Feel free to double-check my numbers using this link I posted earlier, tommy.

https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/eggs-us

And if you take my advice and google "cheapest eggs near me", you will see that Walmart is currently selling a dozen "Great Value" Grade A Large white eggs for $2.96. Back in January, when trumpy took office, the average national retail price was $4.95. That's a drop of 40%!

Why go to Giant Eagle? Do you enjoy paying more?

Can you say "thank you, Donald"? Can you say "thank you, Brooke"?

Good grief!

So now you're tracking and segregating "Biden hens" and "Trump hens"? Don't you have better things to do? Seriously.

Some good news in MN. Hasn't translated over here yet.

We're still seeing Hillendale at $4.79 and Egglands Best at $5.49 per dozen

https://www.kpvi.com/interests/backy...306989f1b.html

Some folks really have taken to raising their own back yard flocks.

https://www.postandcourier.com/pee-d...1648b96c8.html

However, raising your own chickens to beat the still high cost of eggs is costlier than you think.
