Well I hope for your sake that they find some hidden loot in them thar holes! nothing wrong with making money on what's down hole.
I had worked previously for a LARGE gas producer here and Utica wells are indeed very productive, due to the higher pressures and volumes.
Nothing wrong with drilling- ITS just really expensive.
Especially the Utica shale play.
THe amount of water and mud down hole along with the pressures is almost insane. 8-12k PSI, which will shut in local shallow wells, and some marcellus shale wells; That means throttling in pressures or building compressor stations. Not that big a deal if there something there. Believe it or not- the petroleum engineers locally not only know what area's have the best well sites, but they have them mapped out, and it's just a matter of not crossing into other wells to disrupt flow or the like.
Good luck Mr. Clampett.

OP here was all excited about filling up for $3.29, and seeing as low as $3.19. So, gas prices really haven't gone anywhere since post #1 here.

Depends on where you live. According to gasbuddy they are around $2.40 here in Austin, Texas.

Salty I love your humor. Ohhhhh we are surely winning under president Trump. I vomit every day when I think how much we have been winning the last 7 months.
Unless you belong to one of the clubs like Sam's club or BJ's there is not that much of a difference with gas since Trump's been in office.
A lot of $3.59's especially during the holidays in Pittsburgh and Erie. $3.07 in Ohio yesterday.
You can find it at regular gas station's if you look for it in the $3.30's. It just seems cheaper since everything has gone up so much more this year.
I can't wait till we start winning. I hope I can hold out that long.

Which was about the same as they were on 3/28, when this thread started. Gas prices haven't really moved at all, in either direction, over the last 5 months.
And, as was already covered in this thread, Texas has some of the lowest gas prices in the country.

Gas prices in W PA have increased. Costco in the waterfront. Stations along rte 30 from N Versailles thru N Huntington have increased. Gas in Normalville had been the cheapest at 119. Not sure what they are now. Gas on Donegal was the priciest. Just my observation
