You conveniently fail to mention that China has been imposing tarriffs on us for decades. We just bent over. We did nothing. Until Trump came along. He’s trying to level the playing field. Our tarriffs were very low. Not nearly as high as China imposed on us. And of course they closed their markets to outsiders. And stole our IP. To say Trump is the bad guy here is ludicrous. It’s amusing that there’s still people in the “orange man bad”TDS stage. Pathetic.

He had other options within his authority to address that without starting trade war, Bam.

This isn't a 232 tariff. This is him pulling out the IEEPA card again and trying to use powers 2 courts have affirmed aren't his to wield. That's not me taking China side. That's me being against the largest attempted tax increase since 1993. One that will cost us billions

Congress? Some of the dumbest people in America are in Congress. It takes no talent, skills or intellect whatsoever to become a congressman. Do we need to be reminded that the body is full of mental midgets like AOC, Hank Johnson and Jasmine Crockett? Congress is the last place we should entrust with people’s financial interests.

As a reminder the Constitution states that Congress shall have the power to impose tariffs. Not the president. A guy who was claimed is being the "dumbest person he ever taught" by one of his econ professors.

But it also has some relatively smart people too - and those people should be relegating to a committee on tariffs. The price should be accountable and transparent. Currently it is not because nothing that Donald Trump thinks of is part of "thinking"--it's always reacting.

It's not using sound judgment it's using retribution. Trump has no sound basis and keeps whipsawing the markets.

In the U.S. Constitution, Congress holds the exclusive power to impose tariffs
. This power comes from Article I, Section 8, including the Taxing and Spending Clause for duties and imposts (tariffs), and the Commerce Clause for regulating foreign trade.



Over time, Congress has transferred some of this authority to the executive branch through legislation. This enables the president to impose tariffs under specific conditions set by Congress. Laws such as the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 and the Trade Act of 1974 are examples of this delegation.

Perhaps some delegating of tariffs have been given, but NOT 100% of them as is now the case. It's not even agreed upon law at this point to the extent that Trump has usurped that power; it's in front of SCOTUS in November and faces serious possibility of being overturned in part or in whole.


The point isn't about applying tariffs, it's about doing it in such a way that makes no sense other than to whipsaw markets.

When that happens - people that have advanced knowledge, just like an insider trader have advantages over the average investor. People that are convicted of insider trading typically face fines and imprisonment possibilities. Which one would be appropriate for this administration and it's unfair dealings?

China has destroyed so many American industries, arguing for them, just to spite Trump is just unfathomable.

Do you even know where the nearest soybean farmer lives in relation to you?

Nearest field with soybeans in it?

Budweiser also fucked with farmers we know in Montana who raised barley for them for years.

They wanted the farmers to store the barley until they needed it, so, the farmers quit producing the barley.

And, instead, they produce hay now.

Though more likely with the growth in the area from all the people fleeing the west coast, those field will turn into million dollar liberal homes, and we will be even less able to feed ourselves.

Farmers have been dependent upon the economy, from the time Farming started and created the first economy.
