The NY Times has a video analysis that clearly shows he did not have the gun in his hand...and that one of the ICE agents removed it from his waist band and took it away from the immediate vicinity BEFORE they shot him.

I'm not sure if it's behind a paywall.

But it's well worth a look. For anyone objective, that is....

Cuz it's pretty damning. Gonna be EXTREMELY difficult for MAGA to talk their way clear of this.

I have faith though!

They have become so comfortable with repeating the BLATANT LIES fed to them that I am very much looking forward to watching thems continue to make themselves look worse by the fuggin day....

MAGA will never be able to backtrack on things like this. They are dug in way too far.

But they are also naive enough to think that if they keep supporting these fascists that we will come around. Exactly the opposite....

Whatever you say, Mort.

When the ICE officers try to apprehend another person, he jumped between them and tried to intervene and prevent the arrest.
Oh well.

What is Alex doing in the middle of ICE detaining or arresting other individuals. He should not be there interfering. He made a mistake. The fact that he was carrying a gun made the situation even more dangerous.

Were the officers detaining or arresting either of the two people in the left of the photo?
That would be a prerequisite for being 'in the middle of ICE detaining or arresting'.

Is there a gun visible on his person at the time of the photo?

I believe so.

There were clearly observations at the scene mentioning Alex had a gun in open carry. Other photos may show that. There are videos showing him moving in to interfere with the activities.

Were either of those persons in the left of the photo Jose Huerta Chuma (Bovino's express target..or is he fibbing about that too)? Doesn't look like it.

If there were pictures showing Alex open carry, I'm quite certain Noem/Bovino/Miller/Patel/Bondi would have paraded those to us.
Bovino's statement did not make mention of open carry.

You are attempting to do.....what ?

ICE officers were attempting to detain an individual. Alex put himself in the middle of it.
There are several references at the scene mentioning Alex had a gun.

Asking questions about claims made.
Is there evidence Alex interfered with the arrest/detention of the express subject of the DHS/ICE operation?
Is there clear evidence that Alex open carried a weapon?
Is there any evidence that Alex brandished a weapon in front of law enforcement officers?

Is there evidence that seems to contradict Greg Bovino's statemen and Trump/Noem statements?

Sure seems that both Bovino and Noem, upon being questioned specifically about their statements, have done quite a bit of 'backpedaling'

Which persons were they trying to detain, the woman they pushed to the ground? I suspect there was no attempt to detain her at all. From the video, it looked like she was the person that Alex interceded on behalf of.

Anyway, if DHS was in the right in either this or the previous killing they would have no need to lie in order to try and justify it. Yet, they opened with lies and continue with them.

Did DHS/ICE follow what appears to be standard procedure for most law enforcement bodies for either of the MN shootings?

Paid Administrative Leave: Officers are typically placed on paid, not unpaid, leave to protect their rights and allow them to process the trauma, ensuring they are ready to return to work.

Separation of Officers: Involved officers are immediately separated and sequestered to prevent them from discussing the incident with each other, ensuring independent and accurate statements.

Investigation Process: A thorough investigation is conducted, which may include returning to the scene, reviewing surveillance video, and re-interviewing witnesses.

Evidence Collection: The officer's firearm is often surrendered to a supervisor as part of the investigation.

Public Safety Statement: Involved officers may be required to give a brief "public safety statement" to a supervisor, covering only necessary information to secure the scene.

The left has stopped talking about making social workers into first responders Andy more . . . .

Maybe they should try bringing in counselors in to talk to the ICE officers.

Reuters reporting that, despite Trump administration's cut of bodycam funding by 75%, eight or more of the Border Patrol agents at the scene of Saturday's shooting were wearing body cameras.

Whether they were turned on or not is not known. If so, will the video ever see the light of day?

Surely that video would confirm Noem/Bovino claims, right?

Reports indicate that DHS/ICE/CBP is not following 'standard procedure' and the shooting officer(s) remain on duty and have not been separated from other involved officers. Bovino/Noem in their backpedaling interviews indicate 'some form' of 'investigation' is ongoing.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Alex Pretti shooting...

Quote:
“I am sorry this gentleman is dead, but he did bring a 9 mm semi-automatic weapon with two cartridges to what was supposed to be a peaceful protest,”
Quote:
“But he brought a gun!” Bessent shouted back. “he brought a gun. Have you ever gone to a protest—”
Quote:
“I’ve been to a protest. Guess what? I didn’t bring a gun, I brought a billboard.”
Notwithstanding Bessent's claim to have gone to a protest...a scene from Omak, Washington in 2020.
I don't think law enforcement shot any of the assault rifle carriers...
