A police state? I do appreciate the efforts of Law Enforcement officers and abhore anarchy.

I have never had a bad interaction with LEO even when we were brought together due to a transgression on my part . . .mostly traffic violations. Although I did have one incident that could have got the way of Saundra Bland. But it did not. I had gotten on a lane for multiple passengers by mistake and the officer was brutally unfair in telling me all about it. He really wanted push-back from me. just let him go on and thanked him for his explanation . . .and he wrote a warning citation instead of a $200 ticket.

I sure don't want to live in a place where hooligans can take over several blocks of my downtown area or disrupt my quiet coffee place, or keep my grandkids from studying at college. I cetanly do not want to live in a society that allows the sesame folks to takeaway my first Amendment rights when it comes to worship.

My extended family experienced the police states of both Nazi
Germany and communist USSR. I don't want that and do not believe that we now have that. Yet I am for the opinion that the disrupters of our society today do want that in the near future. They must somehow be felt with without the USA becoming a police state.

In the end, I suspect that the problem is no, at root, with the so-called "protesters" but with whomever is supporting them with money and supplies. That is the true issue facing American society today.

Ah, the Vance theory of brotherly love - take it literally; it extends to only my immediate family.

I see how you can't conceive of people caring for their neighbors and their community, people who are doing something for others that doesn't require they be compensated, but voluntarily because they are able to care about other humans because they're humans.

As far as the police state, respect for authority because it claims authority baffles me. Allow cosplay tough guys to make that claim and it becomes downright deadly. And, it appears you're okay with that; they're the authority.

I do respect that you are able to stand behind your beliefs. Slinking away seems how so many fans of the police state evade the question. Of course their cosplay heroes are expert slinkers--watch the video for how they run away after the execution.

One thing I'll give you - the most creative fiction on the site. No reality required or considered.

I'm not sure what your point is. But that may not be you, it may be on me.

What I am seeing is legitimate efforts by federal agents to bring convicted lawbreakers to justice and otherwise enforce federal laws. What else I am seeing is folks directly interfering with these efforts, which itself is a crime. The govern or of Minnesota and the Mayor of Minneapolis, among other public officials seem to be opposing this enforcement of federal law.

To clarify some: My father emigrated to the USA in the mid 1930s to avoid Nazi persecution. His immediate family, Father, mother and young sister were rounded up in 1944 and packed off to concentration camps. they were liberated by Russian troops which< I have been told was almost as bad. Other relatives did not survive the war. Those that did lived under Soviet occupation and oppression up through the 1980s.

That is the police state my family remembers. The only laws they were breaking was to be Jewish.

The only "laws" broken there were disagreeing and holding a camera. Same thing.

Pentagon readies 1,500 troops for potential Minnesota deployment, officials say

Local leaders have accused the president of federal overreach and of exaggerating isolated episodes of violence to justify sending in troops. Minnesota’s governor, Tim Walz, who, along with the Minneapolis mayor, is reportedly the target of a federal criminal investigation for allegedly impeding immigration raids, has mobilized the state’s national guard to support local law enforcement and the rights of peaceful demonstrators, the state’s department of public safety announced on Saturday.

A threat is all that's needed to prove you wrong.

What's the threat? You obviously don't know what a Police state is.

If you have to ask, you don't know what a threat is. Obviously.
