Confused?

Others do not when they call people racist pigs and whores.
Are the mods compromised?

Probably not. You have no way of knowing if/when other posters are given infractions.

Perhaps you haven't figured out it's ok to call politicians, public figures or entire blocs such as Dems/Repubs pigs, whores or other invectives. Just don't direct your insults at your fellow eccie posters.

I said I respected Rep. Omar for going right after the guy that squirted her.
I said it must have been the “pirate” in her.
Somalis are known for their piracy. Was I racist?

i got some strange infractions here at first too. i wouldn't sweat it.
over time, i think biomed tries to figure out if you're a problem child or not. if you're generally respectful and don't intentionally bring drama, start shit or break rules, his moderating isn't quite as harsh and you kinda know when you got points incoming. at least that's been my experience. don't take it personally.
i think it goes back to when this was the food fight forum, so to speak. mods were always trying to herd cats, and it was fugly.

Each time I have been sent to "Banned Camp" in the past few ears, it has been because I have indirectly mentioned one or both of the two forbidden subjects while persuading the meat of something political.

I appreciate the efforts of the mods and admins to keep this board and particularly thus forum, under the rdar or at least not a viable target for local and federal LE.

I was not trying to disrespect any mod. Just wondered what the parameters are.
I think they have a tough job keeping some form of decorum on these topics.

That's a tough one. Calling a Somali a pirate isn't based on race, it's based upon something that folks from that country are known for to many people, right or wrong. Wouldn't that be like calling someone from the UK a colonialist? That's not racist.

When it comes to other member posters here, I feel that resorting too name calling, however cute, clever or funny it may be, is done by folks who cannot bring the discussion forward with logic or evidence.

Labeling persons who are in the news and the subject of a thread's discussion is often just not helpful. Whatever I have thought of the previous administration, I attempted to generally use their official title as President, VP or Secretary for that reason.

The sentence was stereotyping Somalian people. That’s like saying Asians are known for their tiny dicks.
