A federal judge has issued a temporary order prohibiting the removal of a 5-year-old Ecuadorian boy and his father who were detained last week in Minnesota in an incident that further inflamed divisions on immigration under the Trump administration.

U.S. Judge Fred Biery ruled Monday that any removal or transfer of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, is on hold while a court case proceeds.

A petition seeking their release was filed Saturday as dozens of immigrant families protested behind the fences of the family detention facility where the father and son are detained in Dilley, Texas, near San Antonio.

According to ICE, when officers approached and identified themselves as law enforcement, Bravo Uriles fled into a nearby building.

Officers later learned the building housed the Ecuadorian consulate, but ICE said it was not clearly marked at the time.

"Unknown to the ICE officers at the time, the building housed the Consulate of Ecuador," the agency said, adding that officers never entered the consulate and were focused on public safety.

Minnesota state police arrested a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol employee in St. Paul upon finding the man slumped over his steering wheel while “covered in vomit.”

Police say Mancillas failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breathalyzer test, after which he was arrested and booked at the Ramsey County jail. He has been charged with 3rd degree and 4th degree driving while impaired.

Sahan Journal asked the Department of Homeland Security what role Mancillas serves in Border Patrol, but the department declined to answer.

At 3:25 a.m. on Tuesday, a Minnesota state trooper found 31-year-old Alfredo Mancillas Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed out at the wheel in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood, according to charges filed by the St. Paul City Attorney’s Office.

A jury found a Wisconsin man guilty Thursday of forging threats against President Donald trump in an attempt to get the victim in a robbery case against him deported.

Online court records show the Milwaukee County jury found 52-year-old Demetric Scott guilty of felony identity theft and witness intimidation after deliberating for most of the day. He represented himself during the three-day trial and was immediately taken into custody after the verdicts were read, leaving no way to reach him for comment on Thursday evening.

According to court documents, Mexican immigrant Ramon Morales Reyes was riding his bike in Milwaukee in September 2023 when Scott approached him and kicked him off the bike. He stabbed Morales Reyes with a box cutter before stealing the bike and riding away.

Scott was arrested hours later. While he was in jail, Scott wrote multiple letters posing as Morales Reyes to state and federal officials threatening to kill Trump at a rally. Federal immigration authorities took Morales Reyes into custody in May after he dropped his daughter off at school.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem blasted his photo on social media, along with an excerpt of a letter he purportedly wrote in English promising to shoot Trump at a rally.

“Thanks to our ICE officers, this illegal alien who threatened to assassinate President Trump is behind bars,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “This threat comes not even a year after President Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania and less than two weeks after former FBI Director Comey called for the President’s assassination. All politicians and members of the media should take notice of these repeated attempts on President Trump’s life and tone down their rhetoric. I will continue to take all measures necessary to ensure the protection of President Trump.”
