This poll can easily be debunked just by looking at how they are asking the question. Most think that all immigrants are illegal, but most of them are undocumented and awaiting their day before a judge. That takes 7-10 years which is crazy. They have to stay in the US to wait as leaving the US complicates their case.

All they have to do is be transparent. There is a reason why they are not.

interesting choice of words .. is an illegal immigrant a "law abiding person"?

ENCOUNTER:
CBP defines an "encounter" as any interaction between Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers or U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents and a noncitizen who is either apprehended for crossing the border unlawfully or deemed inadmissible at a port of entry. This metric includes apprehensions, temporary detentions, and expulsions under Title 8 or Title 42

the "encounter" argument again. did you see the stream of thousands being allowed in under Biden? daily? they turned away no one. the rest are the "bad hombres" who aren't gonna declare anyway.

Biden declared the border open. millions were allowed in on asylum grounds. if Biden had a brain left he'd know at MINIMUM half of these people will never be granted asylum. they don't qualify.

here's Biden saying everyone is welcome to America!!

lol fixating on townhall gains nothing. Cygnal conducted the poll. could you also debunk the Reuters poll? any poll?

polls are dependent on the sample set. do 1,400 people really represent 280 million adults? probably not even if you don't manipulate the data set. all polls are at best educated guesses

Poll results notwithstanding, it seems a significant number of Trump leaning areas are less than thrilled with the idea of building large immigrant detention centers nearby...

Yet these detention dreams are hitting stiff opposition. ICE wants to buy a warehouse in Virginia’s Hanover County, which went for Trump by 26 points in 2024 and combines rural territory with Richmond’s northern suburbs. Residents recently turned out in force and angrily condemned the proposed sale, with local reports suggesting only a “handful” backed it. The GOP-heavy Board of Supervisors opposed the transaction.

Meanwhile, in New Jersey, the Republican-dominated Roxbury Township Council, in slightly-Trump-leaning Morris County, recently voted unanimously to oppose ICE’s plans to buy a warehouse there, with some locals sharply protesting the scheme for humanitarian reasons. The Republican mayor of Oklahoma City came out against a proposed ICE warehouse, with the owner also nixing the sale. Officials in places like Kansas City, Missouri, and Salt Lake City, Utah, are also dead set against plans for ICE camps in their locales.
