Why don’t YOU read up on fascism and tell me why you think that term might be thrown around “indiscriminately” these days.

I don’t discriminate against MAGA fascists, but at least I am not afraid to call a duck a duck.

then call a democrat a democrat. they have been labeling Republican presidents "fascist" for decades. Harris lost because her entire campaign was her yelling Trump is a fascist. that didn't work out too well did it?

the term has been so overused as to be nearly meaningless now.

these church protestors violated the FACE act among others it doesn't matter if Don Lemon knew it was illegal or not. he knew they were there to harass this church service. Lemon went into this so-called protest to intentionally make false claims that this preacher was somehow connected to ICE. we've all seen the video yes?

if you want to claim this is journalism then call it what it is .. yellow journalism.

Walter Cronkite would not approve.

I tend to believe those who have lived under a facist regime.
But there is Robert Paxton, who has studied such extensively and held back calling donny tenure at the WH one UNTIL January 6.

Than there are the ones that were close to donny who put that moniker on him: Mark Milley and John Kelly.

And those as I said i'd believe since they were under the thumbs of such: Madeleine Albright, Eva Schloss and members of the Von Trapp family.

I don't consider the above to indiscrimately throw around that term. Like the title of the Elmer Keith book, "Hell, I was there"

YEP...but Trump pardoned them.

Trump described the group as “peaceful protesters.” Yet many of them were charged with barricading the doors of clinics with bicycle locks and other implements, pushing and in some cases injuring clinic workers, and preventing patients from accessing health services.

According to the Thomas More Society, which represented many of the convicted individuals in federal court, Trump’s pardon includes a group of abortion opponents arrested after they forced their way into an abortion clinic in Washington in 2020 and blocked its entrance for several hours. Five of them were convicted in 2023 for “using a physical obstruction to injure, intimidate and interfere with the clinic’s employees and a patient, because they were providing or obtaining reproductive health services,”

You have an interesting concept of "amusement"...

But there ya go with that "Alt History" again! Yer good at this!

Til someone calls out your...mischaracterization, of course....

Here's a few cases from recent times:

6 activists convicted of illegally blocking abortion clinic in Tennessee

Antiabortion Extremists Blockade Milwaukee Abortion Clinic

Maybe...yer two-faced President will pardon Lemon too, just like he pardoned THESE assholes:

Trump Pardons Protestors Convicted of Blocking Abortion Clinics

Trump pardoned these people because a 10 year sentence for blocking access is egregious. the Biden DOJ overstepped to crack down on religious protests. the Democrats hate religion. i'm obviously not a fan either but that doesn't justify over zealous persecution of religion.

it may surprise many of you that i'd consider a 10 year sentence for these assholes with Don Lemon would be equally egregious.

They did commit the crime....and were found guilty.

If the sentence was egregious, a commutation would have been the appropriate solution.

the difference between a pardon and a commutation is up to the president who issues it.

the protesters with Lemon are equally guilty, yes?

so what's a fair sentence for them?

NOPE

A pardon is a complete forgiveness of a crime and restores full rights of citizenship. People who have been convicted of a crime forfeit certain rights, such as to hold public office or vote. Because a pardon wipes out the conviction, those rights are restored.

A commutation is a reduction of a sentence to a lesser period of time. The president can commute a sentence if he believes the punishment is too severe for the crime.

While a pardon deletes a conviction, a commutation keeps the conviction but deletes or lowers the punishment. The conviction stays on the record, and the person who receives the commutation does not have any rights restored.

That will be for a court of law to decide.
