Iran still has dozens of boats that can lay mines. It's an easy process. Load the mines onboard, motor offshore, then deploy them into the water. Once armed they are deadly and are deployed to be ~12 feet underwater and very difficult to detect!
All US Navel Mine sweepers are ancient and in dry-dock for repairs! Cadet Bone-Spurs NEVER prepared for or thought this one out either. Career Navel Officers gave warnings on this but Cadet Bone-Spurs dismissed their input since he knows more than all of them....BELIEVE ME!
