Dos and don’t for verification?
I apologize if there is another thread like this but recently I’ve had a couple back to back incidents where different providers will ask for video call as verification (I guess to make sure I’m not a cop), but waits until the absolute last minute to ask. Meaning we have already discussed everything and I am now sitting in a hotel parking lot waiting for a room number and then they ask to video call. One provider called the whole meeting off bc I wouldn’t do a video call, even though I’m physically in the parking lot and can meet in person.
My hesitancy is that idk if people screen shot or screen record a video call and use it as black mail ammo or something. We’ve all gotten crazy cartel death threats at some point in our hobbying, right
Do you feel safe with video calls?
I’d be interested in a thread where safe verification steps are talked about, for both parties, of course. Lmk if there is one already.
