What does he stand to gain from these objectives. Tell me what and how he is going to gain, and do say get re-elected, because blowing up the economy is not a way to do that. I am not defending him because I cant stand him, but I want to know how he is going to gain anything with these goals and if so what and how will it benedit him.

They will turn to their guy and do whatever he or she suggests must be done including giving them the power to do it. Hitler did it, Lenin did it, Ho Chi Minh did it.
