If a rate increase caused you to be beyond his budget, would you want him to tell you that? If you're no longer in his range, would you still want him to stay in touch?

Great question!! I have had a couple of ladies I used to see on a regular basis and then they (how shall I say it) priced themselves out of my self-imposed price limit. I know that some ladies will "grandfather" their existing clients in at a former rate, but I am not one who enjoys talking $$$ issues and if the lady doesn't bring it up or post it, I am going to assume that I would be expected to meet the current donation level. So, no matter how much I enjoyed my time with the lady ... I choose to move on. If I did get a message from her asking me why I hadn't seen her, I would be happy to explain, but I'm not going to appear a haggler and initiate a message saying I miss you, can I see you for xx?

This is an excellent question. I'm not a full-time hobbyist nor am I wealthy man and have on occasion had a lady I enjoy move a notch or two above what I choose to spend. I just look at it as them outgrowing me as a client... If she is curious about why I would tell her if she asked but it's not something I would ever bring up on my own.

...there was a guy who used the handle ShowMe on an old board...

Another thing that is difficult to hear is - when you've been out of the hobby for a few years & come back to find out that one of your ATF's had passed away....
