I can't imagine that anything that was presented to him in class is not by now out of date. As a kid in the 1950's I read and reread an 1898 set of Encyclopedias. They were missing a few major events and biased in a different way.

There is an old movie I like a lot; Band the Drum Slowly it is a baseball movie.
