From Bethlehem to Bedlam - England's First Mental Institution

https://historicengland.org.uk/resea...hem-to-bedlam/

Quote:
At some point, the monks began to accept patients who had symptoms of mental illness rather than physical disability or disease. There is a claim that the residents of a building called the Stone House at Charing Cross were transferred to the Bethlem in the 1370s. It is certainly true that by 1403, 'lunatic' patients formed the majority of the Bethlem's clients - and so England's first, and perhaps most infamous, mental institution was born.

In 1346, as the hospital struggled to survive, the City of London agreed to take it over. Its subsequent specialisation in 'madness' gave it a future, although we know that its patients also included people with learning disabilities, 'falling sickness' (epilepsy) and dementia.

My thought...maybe you should try not to call someone a dildo rider.

People DIED BECAUSE of that wannabe coward dikkktator in the WH.
So do you think he cared that people died ?
GET A LIFE BOY.
More people died in Minnieapolis, Portland, Washington, Chicago, Seattle and other Dem controlled cities because of BLM, Antifa and other Dem controlled and funded agents. Much more property damage was incurred at those places.

The polite people showed up a few days ago, tired of the lockdowns and other bullshit. Pelosi and Schumer know it. 70 MM voted for Trump's re-election. My understanding is 700K showed up for the demonstration. That's why you have this massive hypocrititical tech backlash. That's why the DC politicians aren't issuing protest permits for the next two weeks.

This was a riot of a bunch of Karen's who can't seem to process they lost an election and power.

We've heard their entitled asses for four years.....and especially the last 9 months. They don't want to wear masks. They want the government stealing land to build a wall. They want others to pay for it. They don't want to pay taxes. They want everyone to respect the police...except them.

Unheard. my ass. They have the loudest crybaby in the world shouting for them.

Then he should have thought better before using the word riot.

Definition of riot

1a: a violent public disorderspecifically : a tumultuous disturbance of the public peace by three or more persons assembled together and acting with a common intent

Thank you for reminding me that putting you on ignore is long overdue. Just a quick reminder, people like me called for anybody that entered that capital building to be shot. I'm not in favor of shooting myself.

It would be amusing to see 75 million Americans drop off Twitter ( since I was never on, I can't be counted ), stop using Apple products, stop using Google as a search engine, stop using Facebook and boycott Amazon. That last one isn't likely because it is just so damn easier than going to a brick and mortar where you can't find what you are looking for anyway but HellYes! Drop off Twitter, Facebook, ( which are useless anyway ), Apple and Google.

Far from bringing unity to the country, the Biden administration, history will show, continued to divide the country to it's extremes.
