Please explain what any of that has to do with what you think of the Democratic party and how it’s not as you remember it.

Default About that Epstein thing...

...not that Epstein thing. This Epstein thing.
Quote:
Julian Epstein, the former chief counsel to the Democratic House Judiciary Committee, blasted the Democrat party during a recent appearance on FOX News, saying that the party has become a ‘cult’ that ‘worships weird progressive idols.’

Epstein was reacting to the DNC summer meeting, which opened with a ‘land acknowledgement’ that claimed Minneapolis is built on stolen land.

Like many others, Epstein also noted the party’s horrible poll numbers and their seeming inability to craft any message that appeals to a majority of the American people.

Partial transcript...
Discussing the DNC’s Summer Meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Epstein said, “I think what I was watching yesterday looked more like a Star Trek convention. This is a party that has almost no self-awareness. The approval numbers, two-thirds of Americans disapprove of the party. Their fundraising numbers, the voter registration numbers are all dropping through the floor as the party associates itself with things like gender sterilization for minors, open borders, high crime.

The party is almost becoming like a cult that worships these weird progressive idols. As and then sort of the only thing they have to offer is these insults, like Tim Walsh body shaming the president, you know, Tim Walz going around body shaming to me is like the Taliban criticizing someone for religious intolerance.”

He added, “This is a party that just stands for negativity and for aligning itself on issues that are far to the left of the median voter and not, as Carolyn, I think, points out, putting forward any ideas that any of the voters, certainly in the middle, can relate to in any way.
Keep up the great work DNC. You're doing swell.

Sure, I was responding to your query in post #29. "Usually it’s about opportunity, the ability to work hard, and wanting a better life for your family."

In essence, the current Dim party seems keen on allowing a sub-class to infiltrate under the fence, so to speak, in order to get their menial tasks accomplished for mere Pesos on the dollar, whilst shoveling them $$ under the table from government coffers and slush funds. You know: "Other Peoples Money"

Though, now that I think of it, perhaps the Dims are simply harkening back to their glory years prior to April 12, 1861. Oddly enough, I believe this was a typical sales pitch that was used to import the previous sub-class prior to 1861: It’s about opportunity, the ability to work hard, and wanting a better life for your family. Now step aboard this here boat for a journey of a lifetime.

So maybe your are partially correct, in that over a long enough time line, they haven't changed that much. But most of that timeline was not within my lifetime.

Well said!

Yes, the comparison to the Antebellum South, the post-war Jim Crow South and the current Democratic policy towards unregulated immigration by the world's unskilled and least educated is nearly parallel.

And that congruence does have everything [I]to do with the bizarrely altered Democratic Party of 2025.

They are no longer the party of the women and men of the working class. They now incist that the USA needs millions of the lease educated, unskilled, low wage workers if the country is to thrive. It used to be the party of the nation's organized labor force.

B y 2025, the Democratic Party was so distanced fro labor that the TeamstersUnion wouldn't endorse Biden or Harris. That connection to union workers seemed to be there as recently as Hillary Clinton's campaign of 2016 . . . .but not now.

I perceived their presence at the RNC convention and lack of endorsement for Kum-Alla as something of a canon shot over the DNC bow. Dunno what they had their ears stuffed with at the time, but I'm sure glad they did.

Times ago it was the Democrats representing labor and Republicans management.

Labor made great progress, and it needed help. Some jobs paid pennies with no work rules. You could be fired at any moment.

Today there are some labor disputes, but salaries and working conditions have vastly changed for the better. The Democrats need a new issue for them to represent. They have always advocated for the less fortunate.

But transgender and gay issues will get them nowhere.

... And look at things now, Vita.

The Republicans (with Trump on) NOW represent BOTH
Labour AND Management. ...

And it's the Repubs now the advocates for the less fortunate.

... But I surely agree-with you, mate - that the Democrats
pushing the Trans issues won't help their standing.
Because that is a 70/30 issue - with the Dems yet again
on the WRONG side.

... But were the Dems EVER on the proper side of those
80/20 and 70/30 issues?? ... If so, they might wanna
get back to them soon... As their voters keep jumping ship.
