Two firsts and a starting DL. Depending on what comes from those picks, we will if it be a good or bad trade.

I would call it a bad trade only if Jerry with all his billions could get in a Time Machine and go back to the beginning of the year and start negotiating with teams before all the drama started.

His own poor decisions regarding when and how to negotiate, whether it be Parsons or any of his other star players, have put himself into a position where he has overpaid them and is caught between having enough cap room to build a competitive roster, or pay $47MM a year for a defensive player. If he had admitted that to himself at the beginning of the year he very well could have gotten more for Micah.

But now? I think he was lucky to get two first round picks and a good DT. The other GMs in the league knew Jerry was between a rock and a hard place and weren’t going to offer him the “better deal” that most of the media think he should have received. Jerry was fucked, and took a deal that at least wasn’t embarrassing.

At least the old man recognized it was time to cut his losses. Maybe he is finally realizing he has lost his fastball.

One can dream….

The winners and losers of the Micah trade.

Winners: Green Bay Packers of course, the Washington Commanders, the Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Giants and pretty much the rest of the NFC.

Losers: The Cowgirls fans, Jerry Jones, and the Cowgirls quest for another Lombardy trophy after a 30 years drought

This team wasn’t going to make it to the NFC Championship even with Micah. Jerry at least saved himself $47MM a year.

2 good posts that I agree with:

He did become a distraction and a drama queen, but to me he was proving he can’t stay healthy, even taking a lot of plays off during games because he was winded, too many in my opinion.

TinMan is correct, this team wasn’t going anywhere with Micah anyways, so get what you can. At least they didn’t cut their losses the way the Mavs did with Luka, which I agreed with their decision to trade someone who didn’t want to do the extra work and be in tiptop shape every season, not even close…Look at him now busted his ass this off season…Please Cowboy’s management, invest in offensive & defensive line BEASTS!! This was the Jimmy Johnson blueprint- the greatest offensive line of all time, and a very good D-line!

Agreed, Mannie. I didn’t like the Luka trade in part because I liked the player despite his flaws, but the real sin to me was limiting negotiations to one team and not testing the market.

Jerry may not have opened it up to everyone, but I believe him when he says he was strategic about who he approached and at least had some sense of the market before settled on the GB offer.
