Trump Says DEI just killed 60 people

According to Trump it was DEI that killed the soldiers on the helicopter and the people on the American Airlines flight that collided last night. That damned DEI is now killing people just trying to get from one place to another. Who knew DEI was so deadly. Is DEI keeping grocery prices high as well?

It was probably Federal control tower layoffs or something trump related and he is deflecting.

The helicopter pilot was told to go behind the plane and acknowledged that he saw the plane. Then hit it just after that.

Trump said his common sense tells him it's DEI.

That damned DEI needs to be arrested for murder.

His common sense is flawed, those pilots go through years of training. Had to be miscommunication or lack of communication to have that happen. I'd vote for a woman helicopter pilot over trump for president.

Hmm, if that's the case I might be right, was just a guess. That falls under Trump's watch right? As ATC are federal employees?

Saw that on The NY Times but I’ve not had a chance to read the reporting. Did however hear Trump Duffy and Hegseth on two occasions today say it was DEI or make mention of DEI. Trump said that they need people with bigger brains working at the FAA.

Q: “Are you saying this crash was somehow caused as the result of diversity hiring? And what evidence have you seen to support these claims?”

TRUMP: “It just could have been. We have a high standard. We’ve had a much higher standard than anybody else. And there are things where you have to go by brainpower. You have to go by psychological quality, and psychological quality is a very important element of it. These are various, very powerful tests that we put to use. And they were terminated by Biden. And Biden went by a standard that seeks the exact opposite. So we don’t know. But we do know that you had two planes at the same level. You had a helicopter and a plane. That shouldn’t have happened. And, we’ll see. We’re going to look into that, and we’re going to see. But certainly for an air traffic controller, we want the brightest, the smartest, the sharpest. We want somebody that’s psychologically superior. And that’s what we’re going to have.”

Q: “You have today blamed the diversity elements but then told us that you weren’t sure that the controllers made any mistake. You then said perhaps the helicopter pilots were the ones who made the mistake.”

TRUMP: “It’s all under investigation.”

Q: “I understand that. That’s why I’m trying to figure out how you can come to the conclusion right now that diversity had something to do with this crash.”

TRUMP: “Because I have common sense. OK? And unfortunately, a lot of people don’t. We want brilliant people doing this. This is a major chess game at the highest level. When you have 60 planes coming in during a short period of time, and they’re all coming in different directions, and you’re dealing with very high-level computer, computer work and very complex computers.”

I read the reporting. It looks like the supervisor decided to send one person home due to low traffic volume, which was the standard practice.

Hard to think it was low volume at that time. MCI is really busy around 9pm and tapers off around 11pm-1am. Would DC be any different? Imagine how pissed those ATCs have to be at Trump right now calling them stupid.

The reporting is that this is not unusual. DCA is a busy airport but there are three in the area. BWI and Dulles are in the area as well. Washington National (DCA) is the smaller of the three airports and maybe volume at that time is lower than the others. I lived in the area for quite a while and BWI, Dulles and Wash National seemed to be less busy than airports like Hsrtsfield, Kennedy, LAX and DFW.

They are saying the chopper may have been at the incorrect height by 100 feet.

Maybe Biden should have been more concerned about hiring air traffic controllers instead of 81,000 IRS Agents

Wash National was not understaffed. So hiring Air Traffic Controllers had nothing to do with this accident. Nice try to blame Biden though.
