Thank you for your kind words. Yes, she made it through the night, and in that sense she is better. But it is still one day at a time for her. I'm just glad FG is not her doctor.

. . . As I mentioned before, ignorance is the breeding ground of fear. My intention with this thread is to bring that irrational fear to the light of day and thereby diminish its power over the minds of people in general and providers in particular.

There is nothing you can do or say to help me from my fear of WORMS!! I know it is irrational...they are small, slow, harmlesss, they don't mean any harms and they're good for the garden. But I cannot help it .... I am extremely disgusted by them!!!! Their texture, shape, looks, the way they move around, YUCKKKKKK!!!!!!
And whenever Pyramider talks about his 1'3" dangling worm.....IT SCARES THE HELL OUT OF ME!!!! And I don't have to be a provider to have fear of worms, being murdered or whatever you think it is irrational. I am just a human being!

Exclamation Battlefield

Well, I think it is adorable that a beautiful girl can openly admit to being afraid of such harmless little things like worms.

No, there is nothing I can do to dispel your fear. Only you can do that, if you so choose. Most people choose avoidance, but of course, that never deals with the problem and it only becomes magnified in the mind.

As a very small child, I was painfully stung by bumble bee that I foolishly thought I could play with and developed a natural fear of them until one day, I decided it was enough. I sat cross-legged on the lawn without a shirt on and dared bees or wasps to sting me. I developed a technique where I would swat them with my bear hands and that ended my fear. I feels great to conquer a fear.

. . . Our fears are not really "out there" as worms or bees or whatever. Our fears are phantoms in our heads as mental constructs that we created ourselves however justified it was at the time. The only way to conquer fear is to meet it head on. Most people recoil at the mere thought and won't face their fears, but that is the point of attack. The battlefield is in our own minds.
