I agree with you 100% on your comment about the threads...Thats why I think there should be a forum where those in that area can get to know someone new who is coming and vica versa...Personally when I start visiting an area I like to return to the area as a general rule and would like to make friends with people there...

It is a little misleading "a place to introduce yourself to the community, AND to welcome new members..."

I would think that if you are new to the area, whether a VP or not, then you are introducing yourself to that community that you wish to visit. The AND sort of throws things off grammatically.

My suggestion: if you plan on traveling to a certain city,place an ad in advance of your visit.Put the days you'll be there and use your showcase for all information that can't be place in your ad.

T-Bone, as an owner, gives us the interpretation we should all go by (which is probably something that needs to be shared with all Mods for consistency). So, I would take advantage of the Ad Forums and the Co-Ed forums for introducing yourself to an area you are planning to visit for the first.
