And one more thing. Should Romney somehow win the election, the frenzy to repeal the law will completely disappear. Completely! Because in that case the right wing yahoos will have already gotten what they really want out of the entire health care bill issue - Obama out of office.
Outside of that, they really don't give a rats ass about it. Any of it. It's all nothing but an effort to serve one purpose and one purpose only. As proven by the guy they've chosen to try to accomplish that.

Doofie, what makes you think that the Democrats one purpose, and one purpose only, is more noble than the Republicans?

whats the republicans 1 NOBLE purpose ?
repeal Obamacare so they can have Romney care?
quite noble indeed !!
I do think its noble of the republican congress to spoof each other and the american public by making everyone think the can bounce enough dems accross the aisle and get a 2/3's majority vote to overturn the heathcare law.
yeah, that'll happen.

Just finished watching the Meet the Press this afternoon. Had Former Governor chair Dr. Howard Dean and the Republican Governor of Louisiana Bobby Jindal being interviewed. Video Link Here
Dr. Howard Dean stated plainly that if these Governors like Jindal do not put in their own exchange on the new health care law that the Federal Government will do it for them. He suggests that they be smart and implement the exchange and make their choices or it will be done for them. The exchange is where they go and buy the program plans for the State. Interesting...

For those of you who churn out the mantra that nobody is refused emergency treatment, is that the level you set for expectations of health care ? That nobody dies at the steps of the hospital?
I repeat, with no apology, my previous post.
These are a bit old (2000), but are the kinds of things I am after. US comes just below Costa Rica.
http://pages.stern.nyu.edu/~wgreene/...P-Study-30.pdf
US is 37th on overall health performance, 72nd on level of health,
http://www.who.int/whr/2000/en/whr00_en.pdf
My analysis of table 2 puts US 42nd rank on probability of males dying between 15 and 59.
Table 5 on life expectancy puts US at 24th (and UK at 14th - could do better).
Table 8 has expenditure for US as 13.7% of GDP, $4187 per capita (WOW!!!). In comparison UK per capita is $1303, switzerland $3564, sweden $2456, germany $2713. UK lags behind other major european countries, at least in 1999.
I wish I could find more recent figures.
Do you think there is a problem?

$2000 a year per worker is super cheap! It costs companies much more in payroll alone to keep up with all the regulations and deal with all the problems, and if they kick in and pay some of it, it's a no-brainer. Companies will simply fire 2 HR workers per 50 employees and pay the fines and not have to deal with insurance any longer, or at least that is what I would do.

Let's see. Who would I want treating my children. Dr. Dean, or Dr. Paul. Well, considering Dean is an out and out loon, I'd choose Dr. Paul.

$$ contributed by employers can be written off as business expenses
that said .. a quality benefits package attracts and keeps top of the line employees that do top of the line jobs, and keep companies ahead of their competition ... in the long run my company with health insurance benefits will outshine your company without health care benefits and offset any of my costs to insure them ... that creates a loyalty to me, and your employees may be on the look, so to speak, and I could basically steal any one of them I wanted to
I throw in a company car, and maybe a cell phone and youre out of business

a company that pays laborers $10 an hour and has a benefit package can, and will have a better quality employee than another company that pays laborers $14 and no benefit package .. (another employer ins cost offset)
you wont have to fire anyone ... lol
this day in time they'll be lined up for a steady check and a benefits package for their familys sake, if not their own.
theres my 2

Not necessarily. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out (fine in Massachusetts, it seems) but jobs that offer insurance are going to be at an even greater premium now.
Hiring people in their 20's and 30's today and not offering them insurance is one thing. They'll be willing to risk it just for the sake of having a job - and not be too awfully concerned about it, if truth be told. But if they're required to buy insurance on their own, you can bet they'll be keeping an even keener eye on the want ads in hopes of finding a job that offers insurance. So if you don't offer it, i'll bet your turnover increases quite a bit. If you as a business owner are ok with that, then all the power to ya.

Let me make certain that I have this straight! SOF wants an individual who has only practiced as an OB/GYN, treating your "children," as opposed to an MD who is trained as a General Practitioner!
SOF, what do you plan on telling Dr. Paul when he tells your 19 year old son (who has a broken arm or the flu) to get up on the table, put his feet in the stirrups and spread 'em wide?
As an aside, I have several nieces and nephews delivered into this world by Dr. Paul. When he was practicing, he was known as one of, if not the best, OB/GYN in Brazoria County, Texas. But that is where his medical expertise ends. If one of my children has a broken arm or the flu, I am going to take them to someone who has the background of Dr. Dean, not Dr. Paul.
If the livelihood and well-being of my children happens to be involved, I don't care if the treating physician is Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green or Independent. I only care if the physician is competent in the (needed) field and will be able to competently address their medical needs. Obviously, SOF has a dramatically different set of standards. He doesn't seem to care if they are competent, only that they share his same fucked up politically views.
We now know beyond the shadow of a doubt that SOF is beyond, legally brain dead! Get a rope!!!!!
