Next possible shutdown is nearing. January 20 is 8 days away.

Trump's already attempting to blame Dems for it...I guess he's planning ahead.

That said, the House advanced a $1.2 trillion spending package to a final vote on Thursday, overcoming threats of a (oddly enough given Trump's bleating) GOP rebellion over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) funding and ethanol fuel.

vote tees up two final House votes on spending legislation in FY 2026.
One would fund the departments of War, Education, Labor and Health and Human Services. A second one would fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which also includes funding for ICE.

So, even this partial spending package still has to be voted on in the House, the two bills combined and passed to the Senate, voted on in the Senate...and if approved, signed by Trump.

Yeah, the weather is gonna be bad, but these are elected servants of the people...

The Senate is canceling its scheduled Monday night vote as the District of Columbia braces for a winter storm that will dump snow and ice on a significant swath of the country — with just days left for the chamber to avert a partial government shutdown.

Monday Jan 26
Imminent Govt Shutdown Jan 30

Another 'accomplishment' for Trump and the majority in both House and Senate. Two shutdowns in the first year of an 'America First' administration
The failure of Congress to fulfill one of the most basic Constitutional requirements of the job...again.

Big day tomorrow...
Congress lurches a day closer to a partial government shutdown

Schumer is demanding that Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) split off the Homeland Security funding bill from the package and has promised Democrats will cooperate to pass the other five spending measures by the Jan. 30 deadline.

Well, it was health care last time.
Did they get that straightened out?
Homeland Security gotta be a thorny subject.
Wonder how much dirt that Nome(sp) lady got that she is willing to throw out there.
Already doing the Nuremburg thing.

Democrat voters realized that they're elected officials fucked them hard last time with the government shutdown as they starved single mothers with children on SNAP benefits as they sipped on champagne and dined at 5-star restaurants. Democrat voters were making videos on Youtube and TikTok about how they were stealing food as their leadership had their heads up their tight asses.

Oh. The demo starved single mothers with children on SNAP benefits?

"On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025" (OBBB), initiating major changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)"

MeThinks donny moved the goal post months prior to the starvation wagon.

I think you got it wrong who was drinking and eating high on the hog at that time.

Wonder who had their ties so tight it cut off the O2 to their ass?

Well...no

Senate passes funding deal but it doesn't stop a partial government shutdown for at least this weekend
The Senate passed a deal Friday evening to fund the federal government but the legislation requires House approval which led to a partial government shutdown that began early Saturday morning and is set to least at least a few days.

The bill requires approval of the House...which is not scheduled to return until Monday.

So, many dollars and many manhours spent to shut down, then reopen.
Why are our elected representatives in the House not in 'special session' to get the most basic function in their job descriptions accomplished?

Because their Daddy wants chaos.

If he wanted to avoid another shutdown, he’d figure that bird legged ho and the ghoul who’s running her.
