Well, it's apparent the NFC wild card will almost certainly come out of the NFC North, although Atlanta/Tampa Bay have a shot.

If the Lions can beat the Bears in Chicago after the Bye week this week (far from a given), they are in the drivers seat.

But overall feelin pretty good about doubling the bets.

I would have to agree with you. The Lions could go even go 4-4 the second half of the season and that would be good enough for them to make the playoffs as a wild card. My only chance to win the bet, would be for the Cowboys to get their act together and win the NFC East. And that doesn't look too promising right now. Yeah, you're sitting in the cat seat (pun intended) right now. And I know you are just loving it. LOL.

Well this is going to be one of the most interesting bets ever. I already nominate this for the review of the year.

The Cowboys managed to even up their record to 4-4 this last Sunday. There were some things to like and some not to like from this last game. It looks like they have found their running back in Murray. Hopefully this will take some of the pressure off Romo and tame his gunslinger ways. In the 1st half, the Cowboys had trouble scoring TD's in the red zone. This has been a consistent problem for them this year. I was sure hoping that New England would knock off the Giants. But it was not to be as the Giants scored late in that game to win it. The Giants have a tough schedule for the next 4 weeks. They have to face San Francisco, Philadelphia, New Orleans and Green Bay before playing the Cowboys in Dallas on Dec. 11. I am hoping that at least 2 of these teams can knock off the Giants, setting up their game for Dec. 11. The Cowboys have a much easier schedule than the Giants for the next 4 weeks. So, the Cowboys still have a shot to win the NFC East. But if they don't win all of these next 4 games, then all of this could be a moot point. And I am probably screwed on this bet. LOL.

Just looking at statistics: a team with a 3-5 record has only a 5% chance of making it to the playoffs. A team at 4-4 has about a 36% chance of making it. Not encouraging, but still the win yesterday makes it look somewhat better. On the other hand it was a boring game and the Cowboys have some serious problems.

A telling sidelight, the Fox broadcast team was their #8 team. The Cowboys deserve to be on television but do not rate a high level broadcast team. What, if anything, does this tell us about the Cowboys?

Good point Bull. I'm a prime example of why they don't get the #1 broadcast team. I had the tv on, but was in and out of the house while I bbq'd and didn't pay much attention to the game, and I've been a Cowboys fan forever. The more fickle fans are changing the channel and watching something else. If they could win a couple in a row they would get a little more notice from the viewing audience.

I missed the game because I was traveling.

However, if you happened to hear a very loud cheer when Eli Manning threw that last second touchdown pass to beat the Pats, that would have been me.

Cowboys win. Giants, Lions and Eagles lose. This is getting interesting again.

The Cowboys looked awesome on both sides of the ball yesterday,, at least until the network took it off the air to show us another game. I guess they don't realize that some pussy is on the line with this season.
Detroit losing and the boys winning two in a row makes this look like it might stay interesting right down to the end.

Yes they are starting to look like they have it together here in the second half of the season but we have that dreaded post season gorilla to deal with. Perhaps Romo should start dating Oprah, maybe that would change his luck, lol?

It was a great weekend for Cowboys fans. Dallas won and all of the other 3 teams in their division lost. The Lions lost and suddenly find theirselves in a tie for 2nd place with the Bears in their division. This bet ain't over yet!

The bears will probably catch up the Lions when it's all set and done.

The Bears have caught up to the Lions. They are both 6-3 and tied for 2nd place in their division. The Bears could end up with a better record than the Lions when the season is over. They are hot right now. The Lions have lost 3 out of their last 4 games. The Bears have won 4 straight games in a row. The Cowboys have won 3 out of their last 4 games. Oh how the winds (wins) of fortune can change in the course of a few weeks.

I just read in 1 of the Cowboys blogs that Jerry Jones says he has not seen enough of DeMarco Murray to declare him the starter over Felix Jones. You got to be kidding me. He just can not admit that he was wrong in drafting Jones in the 1st round several years ago over several other running backs like Chris Johnson and Rashard Mendelhall. I'm not saying we should try to trade Felix Jones. At least not yet. But it should be clear that Murray should be your starter and feature back. And Jones should be used as the change of pace back, giving Murray a breather every now and then.
