While Bav Grill is OK, Jorg's Café Vienna is much better. Based on this thread, I'm taking a road trip to FW to find Little Germany.

It's Italian food in Dallas. Mediocre is the high end of the scale. It's preferable to Olive Garden.

Not a hole in the wall but sushi shack up in Plano is a pretty good deal for lunch. All you can eat for $9.99. Good fried rice and pretty good sushi.

I disagree with regard to Italian food in Dallas. Mediocre used to be the top of the scale. But I think that with Nonna and Lucia, Dallas has two very, very good Italian restaurants.

Agreed ... Another top Italian Food Restaurants:
Roman Cucina @ Belt Line,
Bugatti Ristorante @ Nw Hywy
Mangiamo @ Preston

Difficult to find hole in the wall Italian due to ingredients ... but I'd ad:

Gennarinos @ Irving Food Truck
Royal in between 635 and 114
Amore’s Pasta & Pizza @ Duncanville

I've always enjoyed Zeke's Fish & Chips in Fort Worth. The fish portions are huge and delicious!

Little Germany over here in FW is great. For fish, I used to think Zeke`s was the best, don`t think it`s as good. Best fried fish now is the Flying Fish, on Montgomery. For Q hands down now is Billy`s Oak Acres.. Las Vegas Tr. and Loop 820.

I'll give Flying Fish a try next time I'm in town! Is that on the FW side or Dallas side?

I haven't read all 12 pages of this thread, so my apologies if someone has already mentioned Fork in the Road on Fielder near UTA. It's not too far from Chop House Burgers, which is making this little section of Arlington/Pantego quite interesting for the foodie on a budget.

Primarily a sandwich and burger joint, with an attitude. The owner loves Kiss (the band) and hockey. You are likely to hear metal on the sound system. The burger of the week is almost always inventive, but the regular offerings are solid. Everyone raves about the "Crackaroni", which is as addictive as it sounds.

Get there early, or prepare to wait (or order to go). There are only 9 tables in the joint.

There is also a Flying Fish on the east side of UTA on Abram in Arlington. I believe they are all part of the same chain.

While I wouldn't necessarily classify my home as a hole in the wall it does have amazing food. Had a party with friends last night and made homemade Italian food....stuffed mushrooms, baked ziti, sausage and peppers. It went well with the many bottles of wine consumed. One of the benefits of being born into an Italian family....lol.
