In a phone interview on Friday, someone who said they were friends with Robinson in high school, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that the suspect was “pretty left on everything” and was “the only member of his family that was really leftist”.

“The rest of his family was very hard Republican,” the friend said.

Around sophomore year, the friend said, Robinson became more extreme in his political views and would “always just be ranting and arguing about them”.

It's one thing to make fun of a repeat violent criminal choking to death and another to mock a right wing political commentator that was assassinated on live television. In fact, the streets are quite literally safer with one of them gone, while the other is a national tragedy. Regardless of his opinions or views conflicting with your own, it's an inexcusable act. I rejoice every time I see videos of these liberal gen z losers getting fired from their jobs for making light of the murder.

The kid grew up in a conservative home, went off to college, became radicalized via online and who knows what to be a Democrat socialist with influence via Antifa and strongly supporting LGBTQ.

Charlie was seen as an enemy of those movements and that was the motivation.
