The country's federal government debt has, for the first time, crossed the $39 trillion mark, representing 124 percent of the nation's GDP. Over the past eight months, this figure has surged by $2 trillion. Since the suspension of the debt ceiling in July of last year, the national debt has grown by $2.8 trillion. It took merely five months for the debt to climb from $38 trillion to $39 trillion. Despite President Trump's tariffs, the US national debt continues to rise.

Despite Tariffman's lofty claims, his tariff tantrums barely even touched the debt issue.
Smoke and mirrors that some truly dim bulbs pretended would pay down the debt AND replace income taxes, among other things. The math was never there. The markets are down. His other unhinged buffoonery continue to ve headwinds.
If you bought the dips thus far, were you able to sell hjgh?

The facts are that Trumps tax cuts for the wealthy (again) and tariff incomes being in limbo- are YUGE gamble that is literally no different than going to a casino and betting on roulette- The odds are against him, (and all of us) and just like he bankrupted more than a few of his businesses, he's going to do the same to the USA. It's like the dim bulbs just believe that he's going to pull a rabbit out of that hat; Meanwhile- he and his administration are literally disemboweling every societal norm, all the support mechanisms, agencies, installing stooges in every area including the DOJ, FBI, and ICE to completely destroy this country.
What about the lowering of groceries, and no more wars, and all the other broken promises. This guy has ZERO Ideas of what to do, except grift. The dim bulbs love him for destroying all the guard rails of the constitution- cause secretly- they are racists hypocrites and deplorable low IQ sheep. When loyalty wears off from team redhats, this is going to end with a country in recession and stocks in the toilet.

I don't think it's "secretly" at all. Most of those dim bulbs are proud to be racist, hypocritical and dumb.
Daddy has them convinced that all immigrants are criminals, all government is evil, and that "he alone can fix it". Meanwhile, his illegal tariffs have only raised prices across the board.
They were all wrong about everything, but they will never, ever admit it. Even after tariff man is long gone and he leaves a smoking crater where our economy used to be, they will never admit they fucked up by trusting him.

The projected cost to the American consumer of Tariffman's tariffs has been substantially reduced post SCOTUS ruling, showing just how much of the pain came from the illegal IEEPA tariffs

My favorite part early on in this saga was hearing Maggies talk about tariffs as if they were personally getting rich from them.
Gullible rubes, every last one of them.

I’d rather have tariffs instead of Federal Income Tax’s.

Another legal fight over tariffs is brewing — this time, over the fees shipping services such as FedEx and UPS charge to handle the duties.
After the Supreme Court ruled many of President Donald Trump's tariffs unconstitutional last month, some companies sued the federal government seeking refunds. Some, like FedEx, said publicly that they would pass along any tariff refunds that they get to businesses and consumers who ultimately paid them.
The tariffs themselves aren't the only charges customers got stuck with, though. Shipping services, including FedEx and UPS, also tacked on brokerage fees and other charges to the tariff bills they sent customers.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out

Tariffs will not work. Too many people will move their production to places with lower tariffs including back to the US. A VAT tax would be better.
A 5% vat on all goods and services would have generated about 330 million in 2025.
Income tax revenue was 5.23 trillion in 2025. The federal deficit was 1.8 trillion in 2025. That is a total of about 7 trillion.
That means the vat tax would need to be around 105% to balance the budget and that’s if it doesn’t put us into recession which would alter the numbers. Which also doesn’t make any provision for paying down our 38 trillion federal debt.
I can’t imagine anyone would want that.

Well, that’s your opinion but it’s above your pay grade to actually know. But, it’s coming. It’s right in front of your eyes. You can scream and kick all you want. It will actually benefit you. Oh the irony.

Showing him the math doesn't work, TX. He's pushing fantasy while you're looking at plainly obvious facts
